A great how-to guide without the pretension

Ms. Estrich's book has been my bible for the last 10 months of my law school application journey. Her advice is clear, to the point, and correct. By following her advice on what adcomms want and what sends them away crying, I put together a great package to several area schools. Despite a GPA that puts me below the 25th percentile at my schools of choice, I have been admitted to the class of 2011 at one of them so far. This feat would not have happened without the guidance in this book. What I loved most is that this high-ranking legal mind did not talk down to those of us not bound for a T14 school, but gave practical, realistic advice for students in every tier. I have read it a dozen times by now and will likely continue to do so until my 1st day of law school this august. Well worth the time and money...

the best book on the market

I bought this book shortly after I finished college, and used it as my Bible. I followed all the advice, and as a direct result will be attending one of the top schools in the country on a $60k scholarship. Meanwhile, friends of mine with better grades and better LSAT scores will be attending lesser institutions. I cannot recommend this book enough. It changed my life.

    Great law school guide!

This book is excellent for people that are just starting to consider law school or that are still in the process of applying to a law school of their choice. It flows like a conversation between you and Ms. Estrich - the author of the book - and even though most of the information here is her personal opinion, it is full of valuable guidance and it's very easy to understand and follow. Ms. Estrich gives detailed information about the experiences most people go through 'including her personal experiences' and how not to make mistakes when you go through them. It really opened my eyes to many possibilities, including, applying to a top law school - which she never sees as something 'unreachable' when you know what to do 'and she tells you what to do'.
