Overview

"I wish we were back together for just one night . . .

so I could push you out of my loftbed while you were sleeping."

Satirical and sharp, downtown New York City performance artist Anita Liberty reinvents self-help as she skewers her ex-boyfriend in this hilarious, hip, and audaciously candid collection of advice, poems, and diary entries.

"I thought you were a gifted and tortured artist.

I was wrong.

About the gifted part.

Oh.

And the artist part."

From romantic bliss to brutal breakup, from heartache to healing, this fierce, funny, and ultimately liberating homage to being "dumped" rips off the stiff upper lip in favor of a red-hot therapy of wit, wisdom, rage, and redemption. And now, a few words from Anita Liberty . . .

"COMPROMISE--

Lowering my standards.

So you can meet them."

"You're a bad habit.

I want to kick you.

Hard."

Inclues free postcards to send to that special someone!

EXCERPT FROM ANITA LIBERTY'S DIARY

Temp job. It was in midtown. Hellish. Truly. I realized something
today when I was in the elevator of this huge office building:
chivalry is not dead. Far from it, much to my dismay. In crowded
midtown office building elevators, male passengers insist on stepping
aside to let female passengers off first. No matter if all the men
are in the front of the elevator. No matter if the elevator is so
akes all of us twice as long to get out the door. Well, I'd like to
take the liberty of speaking for my gender when I say, "Just get off
the goddamned elevator, you idiots! Just get off. Don't worry about
me. Don't even think about me. When the doors open, just get out.
Get out. You have one thing to remember and one thing only: Elevator
stops. Doors open. Get the fuck out of my way."

ADVICE FROM ANITA LIBERTY

People talk a lot about
"letting go"--
how that's the only way
you can truly get over a break-up and move on,
the only way to show your strength and exhibit growth.
Here's what I think about letting go:
You don't have to.

MORE FROM ANITA LIBERTY

I know what people say about me.

"Anita Liberty's so angry."
"Anita Liberty's so angry at men."
"Anita Liberty just needs to get laid."

And I'm like, you know...

duh!

This is the ultimate bad break up book. She tells it like it is. She actually made me laugh during my darkest moments.

    I bought two

I love this book. After a bad break up a friend gave it to me to read. In turn I bought two. One to keep for myself at all times and the other to pass around to friends when they need an after breakup pick me up. Anita Liberty said it all. A cynical twist, but true to heart.

An honest portrayal of being dissed!

Whether you've gone through a break-up, or know someone who has, this book is a must read. Anita Liberty's biting wit holds nothing back. The book is brutally honest, charming and hysterical. Be prepared to laugh out loud.
