Overview

This is an excerpt from "A Married Man's Survival Guide"

A Men’s Book for Women Who Love Their Men

Men are great but more often than not they are oblivious. It often takes a smack across the head to get their attention, and we cannot tell you how many men we’ve heard say they didn’t know something was wrong in their marriage until their wives started talking about divorce.

Don’t let that happen! While A Married Man’s Survival Guide was written for men about the advice mentors often pass on to others about what works for men who are married, the bulk of our books have been bought by women like you. It is women who manage, care for, and are most focused on the relationship. And because of that (thank goodness) women - wives - have been finding our book and passing it to their husbands.

If you are among those wonderful women who want others to be in healthy, vital and sustainable marriages, tell your women friends about A Married Man’s Survival Guide. It is full of great information, sage advice and some pretty straight-shooting tough love from men. And best of all, you will be the beneficiary of his reading.

I've been happily married for 13 years and didn't think I needed much help with that, but Plante and Girrell's book has reminded me about fundamental skills and ways of being that I had avoided or let go of over the years: like developing a discipline around tasks that are difficult, but essential for real success; like not settling for comfort when I can have fun and excitement; like realizing and remembering that it's not about me, and that my marriage is at its best when my wife is thriving

Simply put, without this guide it is impossible to have a great marriage in a way that both a wife and a husband really wanted when they got married. Just ask yourself is your wife's happiness, (of course your happiness becomes a no brainer here) the success of your marriage and the lessons your children will learn from how you will interact with your wife worth $15.00. I would guess yes, or at least I hope the answer is yes. Just buy the book it is GREAT!

After I read Dave and Kris's book, I gained a deeper understanding of her as a woman and how I can be a better husband. There were some interesting surprises including getting to a point where you do not NEED your wife. One should get to a point where you CHOOSE her. What makes your wife feel better than "It is as if you could have any woman in the entire world, and you chose her" (Page 65;)

This book says it all - whether you are a woman or a man. Yes, we know it was written for men, however it applies to women too! Being a woman, I laughed out loud at some of the situations described and could easily relate, having experienced many of the same situations myself. Kris and Dave are insightful and even a little irreverent at times. They get their point across succinctly and often with great humor. As men and women, we are different with different needs and this book helps men........

This book gave me incredible insight to women's feelings and behavior. If I had this guide when I was in my 20's, I might have made better relationship choices. This is a great read and even better "how to" be a better partner.
