Been wanting to learn how to make whips

After weeks of research on this topic and the relatively few books availible for it, and short of belonging to an organization that is dedicated to those that already have prior knowledge and experience in this craft, I was pleased to find that this book really gives a VERY firm foundation as well as an intermediate level understanding of all aspects of whip making from start to finish. This book covers everything from just getting started all the way to the more advanced plaiting for those that wish to learn patterns and letters. It is a very well written, organized, and easily understood book with incredibly detailed illustrations. It doesn't rely on just words to try and describe complex braiding, nor does it rely on just diagrams that make little sense. Instead, it carefully shows AND describes the various components, materials, and braiding patterns used in making whips of all types. There is an unbelievable amount of information in this book, and all of it is presented in an easily understood and explained manner. For anyone with absolutly no experience that is wanting to learn to make whips, this book WILL be a treasured and often-referenced manual that is capable of teaching a stark novice to become capable and skilled in whip making. My only hope is that the author will someday dedicate future additions to this latest edition that detail non-leather whip constructions, such as flat nylon para-cord. But even without this, the book gives enough insight that one can easily apply in designing alternative-to-leather whips. I am an extremely satisfied buyer of this book.

    how to make whips

a very detailed and in depth book. I only wish that it dealt with the use of synthetic materials as well, paracord for instance.

    A very happy couple

I bought this book after constant complaining by my girlfriend about the quality of whips we were using. After reading this book, I was soon able to make my own whips. Nowadays, I spend up to 10 hours a day in my basement absorbed in my new favorite hobby .Sometimes, my girlfriend even comes downstairs and sits next to me, tied to a chair. We¿re both very happy with the results and she doesn¿t complain anymore.
