Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
Auto and motorcycle restoration and detailing are all the rage on cable television. In this new installment of the "Motorbooks Workshop" series, Caldwell, an automotive journalist and photographer who has written several books on auto repair, hot rods, and detailing, focuses on a specific auto paint detailing technique: painting flames using an airbrush. While there is some basic information on tools, paints, and usage, Caldwell does not offer in-depth instruction on using an airbrush. Instead, the book is filled with photos illustrating eight different types of flame styles and serving to provide examples of good design. A broader range of paint effects is covered in the recently published How To Custom Paint Damn Near Anything, edited by Lee Klancher. Although specialized, this is a good choice for libraries where there is demand. Copyright 2005 Reed Business Information.
