This is the third book in the Renegade Royals series, and my first read by this author. Overall I like her style of writing, so I will be reading the others in the series.  This was a sweet and charming read. I enjoyed the plot, though the pace moved a bit slow in certain sections, it did pick up quite well as the story progressed. The initial slow pace almost did me in, but I kept reading through the night, turning the pages to see how Evie and Will’s romance would bloom, and to uncover the assignation plot.  I thought Evie was a good character. I really liked her, most of my emotions were engaged through her. At times she came off as soft, as too vulnerable, but really beneath all that pain and confusion of Will abandoning her, and his sudden reappearance in her life wreaking havoc on her emotions, she had the strength, determination, courage, and the ability to stand up for herself and her needs. I liked the blend, and I thought it was done quite well. She was a delightful and endearing heroine.  Will was also a likable hero. Certainly honorable and charming, and I enjoyed watching him realize the depth of his feelings for Evie. The romance moved sweet and slow, but it was still quite satisfying. But, I think what I enjoyed most was the plot and the historical details woven throughout the book. I also loved the layers and the complexity of the plot, making this romance read sweet and intriguing.  I would recommend to historical romance lovers.

3.75* I love this series!!! Vanessa Kelly has spun an intriguing tale of illegitimate royals turned spies for their country. This is Captain William Endicott the son Of The Duke of York and Evie Whitney Williams's childhoods friend. Evie is under suspicion of treason and Will is sent to investigate. Will knows there's no way Evie could be involved she's to good of a person. Evie has loved Will for ever and he broke her heart Seeing Evie again and on the arm of another man Will realizes that he loves Evie. Can he convince her she can trust him again even when he's playing a game of secrets that could change everything? This is not my favorite book of the series but I loved the characters and I so want to see Eden Whitney and Alex Gilbride get their own book.

I really loved this story. Didn't know it was a series and really enjoyed it. I thought the characters were wonderful and now I have to read Eden's story. I loved both of the twins. What fun.

I didn't realize this book was part of a series at first, but it stands alone just fine. Wolf and Evie were pretty entertaining together, and their chemistry was strong. The story was adventurous with some added drama. I enjoyed Eden and Alec's bantering as well. This book made me want to go back and red the previous two books in this series. The ARC of How to Plan a Wedding for a Royal Spy by Vanessa Kelly was kindly provided to me by the author for review. The opinions are my own.

Okay. The ending for this story just threw me. I mean, it was a jaw-dropping, "You've got to be kidding me!" moment that doesn't happen often enough for me in historical romances. The way Ms. Kelly saved that delightful twist for the end was just... Wow! But before all that craziness, there is a story that gets told about two childhood friends and former sweethearts Will and Evie. It was touching how well Will knew Evie after being away from her for so long. He knew her looks, her sighs, her huffs. He could tell if she was happy, sad, frustrated, or mad. What he couldn't tell was how much she loved him. It might've seemed obvious to Evie's sister, maybe even to the reader, but it wasn't to him. The vast majority of this story was spent watching Will bounce back and forth between jealousy toward Evie's almost-fiance, frustration with himself, and desire to prove his father wrong about her. Amusing? Um, hell yeah! I loved Evie. Really, she was beautiful in and out. Her capacity to love and give made her so attractive. I think those traits, along with beauty that only Will seemed to see, made her the perfect suspect for Will's investigation. I was happy to discover that those traits weren't superficial or for show or to gain a suitor's attention, but it also puzzled me as to how she could possibly be capable of assassination. The saying "It's the quiet ones you have to watch out for" didn't apply to her at all. As I said earlier, the twist in the plot was completely unexpected. My money was pegged on one person, and to throw a curve ball from left field was a brilliant move by Ms. Kelly. She managed to entwine suspense, intrigue, and a second chance at love into a story that kept my attention, had me wanting to know more, and had me hoping everything worked out for Will and Evie despite the obstacles they faced. ***Received from NetGalley via Tasty Book Tours for an honest review***

3.5 stars  I was excited to read yet another installment in this series, I had done a bit of “catch up’ with earlier titles, and was intrigued by Will’s  story Will is one of the royal cousins from the wrong side of the blanket. To prove himself to his father, he has worked tirelessly as a spy and soldier: now returned from Waterloo, he wants to move on with his life and away from spying.  But that is not to happen, there is a threat to the government, and his childhood best friend Evie is thought to be involved.  Evie is a bit of a wallflower, or always was, especially compared to her very brash and bold twin Edie.  Betrothed, or near to, to Michael, a man determined to do good for te influx of Irish immigrants into the area, Evie has found a ‘simplicity’ in her relationship with Michael, and it is clear that he loves her very much.  And then Will returns, and Evie’s brain turns to mush as he is wooing her, seeing her not as the childhood friend but a desirable woman.  OK  - so Evie is busy ‘telling’ everyone she is to marry Michael, but she is constantly caught in difficult, and then compromising situations  with Will. It’s as if she is determined to forgo her morals for the fulfillment of one night, and then expect that Michael will be waiting.  I pretty much wrote her off at that point.  And Will was not much better, first for insinuating himself into Evie’s life again, repeatedly telling  himself that the goal was more important than the aftermath, and compromising Evie in front of everyone during a party.  His chivalry was certainly tested, and cowed by his father’s flat out dismissal of Evie.  Fortunately Will does manage to turn his own attitude about a bit in regards to her, and become worthy of the attention.  For me, the favorite character in this story was Will’s cousin and Alec and his brash, honest, wicked sense of humor that never gives a break.  And his willingness to bring Will up to task when he is perseverating.  The underlying plot of who is the real threat to government and the climax as they  ferret out the mystery, the use of the church and good works to help the indigent, and Evie’s final development and apology to Michael helped to redeem the story a bit, even though I was more frustrated with the characters than enjoying them.  I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review.  I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

I loved this story! I was drawn in from page 1 as the historical part is set up for me. Will and Alec are a wonderful pair of spies as well as cousins. I enjoyed how the royals' illegitimate children have banded together to know and support one another. I like how Will's past comes into the story and how the past becomes his future. Evie is a fantastic heroine. She may be quiet but she has a backbone of steel. She makes her decisions and follows thorough. I also liked her twin, Eden, who surprisingly is the voice of reason as Evie has to decide if Will is her future. I looked forward to getting back into the book and hated to close it when my reading time was over. I plan on reading more of this series and author.

This is book 3 in the Renegade Royals series. Captain William (Will) Endicott has been ordered by his father, the Duke of York, to uncover an assassination plot. This is nothing out of the ordinary except that one of the suspects is Will's former sweetheart Evie Whitney.  Will can't imagine that Evie has anything to do with the plot, but he has to investigate her regardless. Evie can't believe that Will has come back into her life after all this time. Even with her impending engagement, Evie can't seen to fight her attraction to Will. He broke her heart all those years ago, but her heart doesn't seem to care. What will Evie do when she finds out that the only reason Will came back into her life was to investigate her? I've LOVED this series from the start and Will and Evie's story is no different. Kelly sucks you into the world of the characters and you don't want to leave! We visit a few of the characters from the previous books, but this story mainly focuses on William, his cousin Alec, Evie and her twin sister Eden. I know that the next book in the series will feature Alec and I'm hoping that Kelly pairs him with Eden. They were so much fun to read about. I loved reading the scenes between Will and Evie. The chemistry between the two of them practically leapt off the page. As with other Kelly stories, the banter between the characters had me laughing out loud throughout the story. I can't believe that I have to wait until July to read Alec's story. I'll be waiting on pins and needles!

A second chance at love with a spy mission entangled in the mix. Will’s father sends him on a mission to spy on Evie, someone from his past that may be involved in an assassination conspiracy. Little do either of them know it may rekindle some old feelings toward each other. Will Evie be able to between someone very close to her for an old love? I admit the beginning was a bit slow for me but once things got moving I enjoy the characters and the story. Good read.

Vanessa Kelly has written a very excellent story. This story is about Will and Evie, former sweethearts who find themselves in the middle of an assassination plot. Will is sent to investigate Evie and her current beau. This story has surprises and twists that are delightfully entertaining.

I like reading books from Vanessa. This was another good read but I did come across some places where I had to put it down and walk away. Vanessa did a super job with this plot. It was so spot on good I had to reread parts. Her characters were busy and being so real you thought you were with them.I'm sure you have read the plan for this story. I will tell you that I believe I read more spoilers in this story than any I have read before this one. I hope you choose to read this book. With Christmas it took me 3 days to finish but without interruptions it is a reasonable book. Please give it a try. I have this book for an honest review for NetGalley.
