This book does a marvelous job of addressing important issues and providing helpful checklists and exercises to identify ways the reader can become "involved in living" while in recovery. I think the diet and nutrition information is especially helpful. Making commitments to yourself and those close to you is absolutely imperative, and this book has sample contracts for the reader to sign. This is not a source for physiological explanations or theories of addiction, but is a very powerful general text which covers a plethora of effective techniques for treating substance abuse.

This is a book like no other. I can succeed. It is full of information that is so hard to find. Positive influences and a reminder where I came from and what a nice life I do have. It has so far saved my family and marriage.
