Jon F. Merz--No Fluff, All Business

Jon F. Merz goes hardcore in this brief--but all-too important--guide on how to build your readership via Twitter.

And that's the beauty of this eBook: it's niche. This is about increasing your readership and overall eBook sales via Twitter, focusing on that one method of delivery. A "crash course," if you want.

Look, I've been on Twitter a long time, and the sad truth about social media is--right now--there is no "for sure" way to do anything in terms of generating sales. Jon tells us this, so instead offers what's worked for him. And if it's worked for him, odds are it'll work for many others who follow the advice in this book.

Everything is covered from how to sell your eBooks on Twitter, how to gain more followers, how to format your links and so on.

On a personal note, what I really appreciated was Jon not including any hype about the "eBook revolution." As someone who's been publishing eBooks for seven years, it drives me nuts when folks treat eBooks as a big deal and hype it up to the extent that it's "go indie or bust." Instead, Jon sits down with you over a cup of coffee--or maybe a beer due to how loose and relaxed he seems in this book--and just flat out says, "Hey man, this eBook thing is working out for me. Hadn't always. Now it is. This is what I've done differently, and here's where I'm at today."

I'd recommend this book to anyone looking to sell eBooks more efficiently, quickly and properly on the Web.

Kudos to Jon for providing a down-to-earth guide on how to use Twitter to its utmost in every author's quest to sell more books.

    100% Good Advice

Jon Merz's short and powerful manifesto on eBook marketing contains dozens of different strategies you haven't already read a thousand times. While I was reading this book my heart started racing and my head spun. I kept thinking, "This is brilliant! How come no one else is talking about this stuff?" I was so excited to start implementing the techniques, it was all I could think about. First chance I got, I began following his instructions. Overnight I already have seen results. I'm not a best-seller or anything (not yet!), but I've already extended my marketing reach to people who are actually INTERESTED in what I have to offer.

That is the primary beauty of these methods. No more "preaching-to-the-choir" circle of writers marketing to other writers (the glaring fault of a number of standard marketing techniques). This stuff gets your message out to READERS. Readers that are already predisposed to purchase eBooks. You know? The people actually looking for something good to read.

If I start seeing a major sales increase, I'll know just who to credit.

I almost want to give this book a 1-star review so I can keep its secrets all to myself. But Merz deserves to have this one sail to the top of the Kindle charts. Thanks, Jon Merz, for offering a substantial plan to marketing my books.

Just the facts, ma'am, just the facts

I like the no nonsense approach of this book. As the title suggests, it is a quick rundown over a number of techniques that can help increase your reach and build a bigger audience, which will hopefully translate into bigger sales of your books. In fact, I think this book is not even relevant to ebooks only and the methods that Merz points out here can be applied to anything from trying to promote your own music, movies, books, games, services or whatnot.

There were some great tips in this book that I managed to put to work for myself straight away!

    paid ad

this book was all about the author's use of twitter and tritter-like services that pay him to write stuff like this. Perhaps this works for him but his book was a waste of my money for me.
