How to Seduce a Vampire (Without Really Trying), the sixteenth in Kerrelyn Sparks' fantastic series, is by far the most humorous of the set. Well, with the exception of the first – who can beat a vampire going to the dentist? Ms. Sparks has yet again succeeded in providing us with a witty, sexy, action packed story. In this novel, the heretofore mysterious Eastern European vampire Zoltan finally meets his match in Neona, a warrior woman from the secret clan of Beyul-La. Ms. Sparks does not disappoint in her portrayal of Zoltan’s Draculesque character: a brooding lord with a tortured past, a dark Transylvanian castle – a popular tourist attraction no less - loyal servants, a protective village, a mummy. Wait, a mummy? Just another one of the quirks that make Ms. Sparks' vampires so enjoyable. Neona, the heroine, is a member of a secret clan of immortal women, guardians of a precious secret, who believe the only good man is a dead one - after he has provided his seed, that is. Neona chooses Zoltan for this auspicious task because he is strong and fleet of foot, fair of face, brave, and “seemingly intelligent.” She tries various methods to get her apparently reluctant specimen “in the mood” for her seduction. Zoltan knows early on Neona is his mate for life and proceeds to court her – a task he is ill prepared for – with chocolate, weapons, books and jewelry, um yes, about that . . . Good thing he has doughnut-loving Howard the Bear and his wife Elsa to coach him. Howard, one of my favorite characters, attacks with gusto the job of being Zoltan’s head of security, a position which the recalcitrant vampire sees no need for. Ms. Sparks doesn’t disappoint on the action front either, with a common enemy in the evil Lord Liao, the warrior women and the ever growing Romtec family join forces to battle Master Han and his powerful army. For the sentimentalist in all of us romance readers, there is a delightful surprise for Angus and Emma in the making. Make sure you have several hours to spare as you will not want to put this book down. Oh yes, and make sure your hanky is accessible; you will need it to wipe away your tears of laughter!

I absolutely adored this book in the series, it was funny, sharp, edgey and highly addictive. ( I stayed up all night to read it and was soo happy I did)!! even if you have never read one of Kerrelyn's books before, trust me, you will want all of them after this just like I do!

This is a fantastic series and I was excited to read Zolton's story. After having been alone for over 800 years he never expected to meet a mate especially in the country of Tibet. In search of what and who killed his father he comes across a woman who is a warrior with secrets to protect. Neona meets up with Zolton and she is drawn to him like no other. But she has a duty to keep the secrets and no men are allowed in the valley and live to tell about it. This book continues the fight against the evil vampires and Zolton and Neona find themselves fighting for everything they love. Zolton's story was good but I didn't find I enjoyed it as much as books past. I guess I just didn't have as much history with him as all the other characters created for this wonderful series. I still highly recommend this as the storyline is very enjoyable.

I waited a long time for Zoltan story and Kerrelyn didn't let me down. Both Zoltan and Neona were multifaceted characters that I expect from Kerrelyn Sparks, the story line for Zoltan filled in most of the missing parts of his past that was hinted at in earlier Sparks earlier books. I fell in love with this Vampire series when I purchase Kerrelyn first book "How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire" and can't wait for last book to come out next year.

Wow, really! I've read all of the books so far in this series and this has to be one of my top 5 with this one being like number 2. As always her books keep you smiling, laughing, a bit horny, reading for hours, and totally wishing that the characters are ether your best friend, lover or both and this book delivers all that plus some. It was worth the money and time. Truly my only complaint is that it was so good that I couldn't stop reading and now and done. Lol She has a beautiful imagination and I enjoy and minute that I get experience it through her writing. Thank you for every page you write.

Was looking up how I rated other books in this series and added the next book to my to-read list when I noticed in the synopsis that #16 will be the conclusion to this series.  Huh…  Where the hell did this come from?!  Not sure how I feel about it.  This is such a fun series, sure I don’t always give it four or five-star ratings….like this one….but I love this world.  It is one of the few light-hearted series I collect.  On the other hand, I’ve recently not cared for how Ms. Lynsay Sand’s long running series has been going (these two author’s writing style is very similar), so perhaps it is better to end on a high note and just reread the titles I love.  Still I’m a little bummed… Meanwhile as I learn to accept change here is my review of book #15.  I liked this addition to a much-loved series,  didn’t love it, didn’t devour it in a single marathon read, but thoroughly enjoyed this trip into the Love at Stake world.  This series is what many would call chick lit or fluff.  Which is perfect for a summer vacation read, too bad I didn’t have a beach handy.  The titles in this series tend to be inst-love, which I know annoys many of you, but for me in a paranormal book it’s not such a big deal.  This is Zoltan’s story,  he has been in the series for a while now and I’m glad the author finally gave him a H.E.A. He was paired up with Noena, who I must confess I had to learn to like.  She comes from a group of long-lived females who have a secret to protect.  They are run by Noena’s mother, the Queen Nima, who has a huge chip on her shoulder when it comes to men and has passed that on to all the women under her rule.  All the man bashing in the beginning of the book did get on my nerves a little bit.  Most of the women came around, but that stubborn queen held onto her grudge till the bitter end.  I can’t put my finger on it, but the first half of the book the new characters, including Noena, just felt off.  I’m glad that by the end they improved, or grew, cause otherwise I might have had to give this one a lower rating.  One character I did love was the snow leopard, Zhan,  Ms. Sparks did an excellent job of using him as comic relief in much of the story. There were a lot of familiar characters that showed up in this book, and being the series is ending soon it was really nice to see them one last time.  The mystery surrounding Zoltan’s  parents was interesting and well-played, woven nicely to the background of the female warriors.  I would have liked to seen a little more of what life was like for Zoltan at home, the parts we get with him interacting with his community were a hoot, would have been nice to have more of them.  One small error I noticed in the beginning of the book,  she writes that Zoltan owns property in Sofia, Romania.  Being that my husband grew up in Bulgaria, I can tell you that Sofia is the capital of Bulgaria and near the Romanian border, but not a part of that country.  Not a big deal, but I hardly ever catch errors and had to share this one time I caught one… Like all the others in this series, this title can be read alone, but is so much more enjoyable when read with the others.  This series has come a long way from the beginning, changed quite a bit.  I both look forward to and am a little melancholy about the next book, Crouching Tiger, Forbidden Vampire, that comes out December 31, 2014.  I hope it goes out with a bang.

I have read the entire series and was excited about this book. It was good but it left you hanging at the end. What happened to Zolton and Neona I was disappointed in the book. There was very interaction with the other vampires from previous book, this could have been a stand alone book.
