After reading "How to Sell a Business" by Jacob Orosz, I learned a few tricks that helped me sell my salon without a broker. I owned a small beauty salon. I found the book very easy to understand. The book was filled with helpful tips on how to avoid common pitfalls and avoid unnecessary delays. More than the book, I also found that his website contained plenty of simple yet useful advice on closing the sale.

Excellent overview of the selling process. Provides a solid outline of the process and highlights of areas that a seller can research. I was very surprised that this complex topic of selling a business  was put into such a simple format.
As an advisor to small business owners, I will recommend this book to my clients as a good starting point. This book is very systematic and is jam packed with practical and useful information.

This guide is really helpful. I have sold one business before and so I am familiar with the basics although this step by step book was really clear and taught me a lot of things that I was unaware of. It is really easy to read and straightforward.

I got this book for friends of mine who are trying to sell their business.  They had already tried once and used a shady broker who really caused the deal to not end well.  This book is written by someone with a lot of experience in this field but he has written for the average business person who does not know much about this end of business.  The outline and details of the process are very clear and easy to understand.  The author is clearly experienced and gives a lot of great examples and suggestions.  There are so many tips and information that I told them about that they wished they had known on their previous attempt to sell their business.  Even if you are using an industry professional to sell your business, I’d suggest reading this book so you have at least some knowledge of the process so you aren’t taken advantage of like my friends were.
