How to Start A Successful Law Practice: The New Lawyer's Guide to Opening an Office As A Solo or Small Firm Attorney

This is a great book on starting a law practice, especially for new lawyers who are just starting to learn their way around the system. There is no fluff or padding in this book - everything is addressed in a direct and concise manner. The chapter on selecting an office location and the chapter on how to set your fees were probably the parts of this book that were most useful to me, especially the chapter on fees. I also found the chapter on marketing to be helpful, and the inclusion of sample forms for the book was a big bonus in my view. I would have liked for the chapter on office stationary to have been longer, but the advice in that chapter really helped me get a grip on how to design my letterhead and cards. Overall, this is the most useful book I've seen on starting a law practice. It lays out everything a new lawyer needs to know in order to open a practice and start generating income, and it stays focused on the important things you really need to know. I strongly recommend this book to any young lawyer getting ready to start a law firm.
