Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
"Let's face it, traveling around the world costs a bucketload of money. We'd all love to be globetrotters, but, unfortunately, the closest most people get to seeing foreign countries is movies and photos on Facebook. Thankfully, Jason Sacher is here to ease the pain. What's the next best thing to visiting exotic locales? Learning how to say "Your mother is a cow!" in Turkish ("Annen big inek!"). And, of course, telling someone "Fuck your mother!" in Burmese ("Minn may minn lo!"). As useful as it is hilarious, Sacher's How to Swear Around the World teaches readers all kinds of vulgar phrases in dozens of different languages. Feel free to call Expedia and curse out their airfare prices using any of the book's quotes."

    Thanks for nothin!!

Why would this be the free book of the day? Nook has offered some very poor choices, but this is an all time low in the year I've had my nook. I would like to think that you think better of your readers!

    Curses!

Obviously the offended people out there have never traveled -- I want to know if someone else is cursing at me. I'll use it in self-defense!

Not only a book for a good laugh, but also a must for traveling

Not only a book for a good laugh, but also a must for traveling out of the country! You learn how to insult your hosts in many different countries with aplomb. Keep the ugly American stereotypes alive as you tell off various non-English speaking people in their own languages. Nice job Mr.'s Sacher & Triumph!

    Why the oveereaction?

I don't like this either, but it is just the Nook "Deal of the Day". I glance at them, buy them if I want them (not too often) and if not, I forget them. The will be a new book tomorrow.

I thought that this would be a great book since I think it helps

I thought that this would be a great book since I think it helps you understand a culture to know how they use profanity. I was massively disappointed, however, to find out that there really isn't any sort of pronunciation guide for the different languages. Everything is written in Latin letters, but nothing explains how you should say the letters. It's very frustrating.

    Delightfully Informative and Deliciously Offensive

Terrific explanations and lighthearted sidebars make this book a highly entertaining romp through the seamy side of language. Sometimes laugh-out-loud funny, this brief work is worth the read.
