How to Talk to a Yankee Fan

( 3 )

Overview

More humorous than acerbic, How to Talk to a Yankee Fan is a tongue-in-cheek primer of Yankee discourse; a psychology examination of baseball fandom peppered with fun facts, frivolous historical accounts, and comical illustrations. If you've ever been forced to listen to a Yankee fan's insufferable ranting and incessant blathering, then this book is your tool for striking back. hypocritical

i find this book extremely hypocrytical. it goes on and on about how yankee fans always talk about the red sox and complain when things don't go their way. this book also goes on and on and about how terrible the yankee fans are, how outrageous and overzelous they are. this book exemplifies everything the authors spoke about. the authors are describing themselves, and any other fan that agrees with them. you say yankee fans can't take hits and always complain. this book does exactly that for non-yankee fans. it also had it's funny moments, but this book is not worth it. basically the authors just needed an outlet for their frustrations. they got one, but they didn't handle it well.

    NOT EVEN A FAN, BUT...

I enjoyed this book a great deal, because even though I don't follow the sport, I grew up in New York and was lucky enough to share my childhood with a great many Yankee fans. These writers hit that ol' nail on the head, describing the different types of-- not only Yankee fans, but New Yorkers themselves. Why is it they were always the hairy jocks who sat in the back row in Math class? A class being taught by the coach, coincidentally. Conspiracy? I think so! And they were always exempt from homework the night before a game-- any game! How is that fair? So I know, have felt the burn of sharing the same space with Yankee fans. Wherever you guys are hiding, (in disguise, no doubt) I salute the writers.

    so funny!!!!

Finally, some one said all of the things that Yankee haters need to hear. It's funny all the way through and even has real stats to back it up.
