I've read some of her books but thanks god I only checked them out from the library. Although Her plots are sometimes good her writing style is worse then my nephew's, granted his are a whole different type. Don't buy her books because you probably won't like it, its kind of suckish. I like a little predictablity and dont mind if the plots kind of been used before but her books dont hold my interest one bit. Check them out at a library or borrow it from a friend before you buy that way you can see if its worth it.

Ok so I bought this book without doing any prior research about the author or the ratings it received. NEVER AGAIN! I don't know why everyone else thinks this book is so fabulous. It's way too wordy. There is little dialogue between the main characters and I find myself skipping ahead chapters just to see if it gets better. I have been reading this book for five days and I'm only halfway through. That is unusual for me. I will finish because I can't start a book and not finish, however, I will not be purchasing another book by this author, no matter what the reviews say. Do not purchase this book if you like to read stories where the main characters are the central focus and ACTUALLY TALK TO EACH OTHER MORE THAN ONCE IN A CHAPTER.

This book, had it all. Suspense, humor, love and a little something extra. I am an avid and fanatical book reader, I love all sorts, and this one had a bit of everything to satisfy your lust for a good book. I love it when an author can go into detail about lovemaking, without making it sound like trash. Kudos to Elizabeth Bevarly for a book well done.

Dorsey MacGuinness was a Pd.D. candidate in the sociology department of Severn College. She wanted, more than anything, to make her career in research and teaching. Her dissertation was coming up in the spring. The last thing she needed was for anyone to find out that she was the author of the book 'How To Trap A Tycoon'! It would kill her in her chosen career! She only wrote it so the royalties could be used by her mother for retirement. But the book went into its third printing and the media was screaming to meet the author, Lauren Grable-Monroe. Even national television was knocking at her editor's door. No, national television was downright bulldozing down her editor's door! For her mother's security, she went to meet her public. However, no one knew it was Dorsey. With her mother's help, a wardrobe, wig, and cosmetics, Dorsey did not look like a teacher and part time bartender!

Moonlighting as a bartender at a men's elite club, she was able to study her subjects...the men. She was appalled to find out that Mr. Adam Darien, the editor-in-chief of 'Man's Life' magazine, planned to prove that Lauren Grable-Monroe was a fraud! If he found out and printed it in his magazine, her life would be ruined. Then as the attraction between them started to get hot, she had to worry that he would hate her forever if he found out, because he pure hated the book!

*** Let's just say it is a good book. Okay, okay, let's say it is a very good book. (SIGH!) Alright, I'll go so far as to say on a one-to-five rate I would give it top ratings. Okay, okay, I admit it! On a one-to-five rate this one is a ten! Satisfied??? It is hilarious, witty, and kept me riveted from page one until the ending! SO THERE! ***

This is my first book by this author, and she had me hooked into the story by the end of the first paragraph! This story is absolutely hilarious, and the charactor Dorsey is fabulous! I am an avid romance reader, but in the recent times there has not been many that is worth keeping... This is absolutely a keeper!

In Chicago¿s Severn College teaching assistant Dorsey MacGuinness is shocked by the stir caused by her satirical book HOW TO TRAP A TYCOON. She wrote the book based on her mother¿s experience under the pseudonym of Lauren Grable-Monroe. Proceeds were to help her mother remain financially secure. However, the book has become a national sensation.

Even at the Drake¿s Men¿s Club where she works the bar, her book is the topic of heated conversation between the Editor in Chief of Man¿s Life magazine Adam ¿Oban over ice¿ Darien and one of his reporters. Adam plans to uncover the identity of the mysterious Ms. Grable-Monroe. Adding to her concern is that her publisher wants Lauren on tour since every woman in America has adopted the book as their bible in the battle of the sexes. Can she pull off a masquerade when the man she loves is determined to unmask her alter ego?

HOW TO TRAP A TYCOON is a hilarious contemporary romance that winks at the ¿rules¿ of the sub-genre, using humor to tell its tale. The story line is genuinely amusing with its book within book approach to the gender wars. The lead characters are an entertaining duo while the support cast provides pathos and depth to the lighthearted romp. Elizabeth Bevarly has carved out a niche as one of the leading authors of satirical romance.
