This book discusses qualities that people desire in a successful leader. It primarily focuses developing the proper social skills needed in the workplace and in everyday correspondence. The change in title from the original book reflects the "modernized" examples that illustrate Carnegie's original ideas. The rest of the content is, as far as I can tell, unchanged. I found it especially useful to learn how little the "rules" of communication has changed when we communicate through email, Twitter, Facebook or any other form of instant communication. A major focus of the content is encouraging people to think about the unspoken and implied messages they send to others—something that is critical in a world where information may be instantly shared. It centers on how to interact with and make acquaintances, make a lasting impression on those you already associate with, help them to learn how to trust you, and influence them (as well as yourself) to change for the better. Reading this book will certainly make you think twice before you click "Send" in an email. Anyone interested in maintaining friendships will enjoy this book. Its influence will greatly enhance everyday communication on any level, both formally as well as electronically.

I liked this book but found some of the information to be very obvious. I think this book is more of a beginner's guide to management.

This book provides inspiring insight in how to connect and relate with others no matter what medium we are using. It's a wonderful blend of current examples from the vast communications outlets of today and Mr. Carnegie's inspiring examples from the origninal How to Win Friends and Influence People. I love this book...and you will too! :)

This is an excellent, and practical guide to living successfully in the Digital Age we are now living in. The original How To Win Friends had a profound impact on my career. This new version will also have a profound impact on how I live today.
