Overview

Think ebook publishing is hard? Have no idea how or where to start?

Want to write an ebook but can never seem to make time to finish (or start)?

You can! And by next week this time, you could have finished your first ebook and be well on your way to getting your first sale.

I know, I’ve published over 50 ebooks to date and since 2009/2010, have made over half my annual income from e-products I write and promote (I’m a freelance writer and do ebook writing and publishing as a secondary (almost primary) stream of income). You can do the same thing.

It’s not difficult at all. But, don’t take my word for it. In October 2010, my company sponsored an ebook writing and publishing tournament (10 days) for those who said they wanted to write a book, but could just never find the time.

It was a lot of work, but well worth it. Proof? On day 7, one participant got 2 sales. Another participant rang up 12 sales in 12 hours! It proved to many of the over 30 participants that it IS possible to make money writing ebooks -- if you prioritize it, just like anything else you want in life.

Just think, 10 days from now, you could be a “published author.” This ebook tells you everthing you need to know. Following is a selection from the Table of Contents.

The Main Thing That Keeps Most Writers from Starting and/or Finishing an Ebook

MAKE YOUR LIVING AS A SELF-PUBLISHED AUTHOR

Imagine being able to write for home. You’ll be able to walk your kids to the bus stop; shop when the stores aren’t crowded; and attend more family functions because you don’t have to request days off. As a writer, you can work wherever you can take your laptop.

I work from home (or wherever there’s an internet connection); travel at will; and live part time in Jamaica (I’m American) — all because I have the portable lifestyle of being an ebook publisher.

This is the lifestyle self-publishing allows you to have.

Meet the Author

My name is Yuwanda Black and I'm a freelance writer, author and web entrepreneur.

I've been a freelance writer since 1993, and an ebook writer/publisher since 2002.

TRAVELING FREELANCE WRITER

My primary residence is in Atlanta, but I live part time in Jamaica (Negril). I visited for the first time in 2009 and started going back on a regular basis. After so many trips (and so many expensive hotels) I thought, "It's cheaper to rent!"

So I did -- a studio with views of the ocean.

But, after living in it for about a year, I rented a cute little house with 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, a yard and access to an infinity pool (which overlooks the ocean; it's beyond gorgeous!). I did this because friends and family kept wanting to come visit. And, everyone's your friend when you live in Jamaica, no?

THE THING I LOVE THE MOST ABOUT MY CAREER

The thing I love the most about being a writer is that it allows me to live and work where I please. As long as I have an internet connection, I'm good to go.

I've worked everywhere from a hotel room in Barcelona, Spain; to a cafe in Stockholm, Sweden; to a farm house in Cordoba, Argentina. As far as work, I feel like the luckiest girl alive most days.

THE THING I LOVE THE MOST ABOUT BEING AN EBOOK WRITER/SELF PUBLISHER

In a phrase, "income stability." As long as I can write (ie, produce new products), I can make a living. How much I earn is entirely up to me. Thanks to places like Barnes and Noble, you don't have to be famous to make a living as a writer.

RUNNING, RUNNING, RUNNING!

I'm also a marathon runner. I've completed one full and 4 half marathons as of May 2011. I'm always training for the next one. Next up: Reggae Marathon, Negril, Jamaica, December 2011.

LIFE PHILOSOPHY

Just do it! (As a runner, of course Nike's philosophy fits who I am :-)).
