I've only read three chapters of this book so far, but I've already learned some things that I haven't considered about writing historical fiction. Such as how far back in time would I need to write in order for the story to classify as a historical fiction? What is considered to be an alternate historical story? Basically, the writing of any story in which a significant event in history is altered by you, the writer. These are just some of the basics that I've learned and I look forward to reading the rest of the book. I would recommend this book as a basic beginner's guide to incorporating a mystery in a historical piece of fiction.
