Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
A solid and informative study. Development planners, geographers, and students of Nigeria's recent history will find merit in this concise and compact work.
Robert W. Kates
There is a continuing need for longer-term evaluations and we are all grateful for Roder's willingness to take the long look and to inform us all.
African Review
With so many adverse reports on dam projects in Africa it is refreshing to have one that is favourable. American Wolf Roder was recruited to study the Kainji area in 1965 three years before the dam started to fill, so is well placed to make judgements on whether it has been successful.
Book Reviews Arnold
...valuable because it draws on and interprets research that might otherwise be unavailable. ...it provides a geographical account of change over almost three decades. Such accounts are regretably rare in Africa...
Book Reviews
...the text reads well and is easy to understand......provides some interesting information on a variety of topics.
