If you think you know it all about sex, think again!

I had to use this textbook when I took Dr. King's Psychology class at the University of New Orleans (Spring '06). I found it to be a very informative eye-opener Dr. King presents information in a clear, concise, just-the-facts way, yet it doesn't read like a 'boring old textbook.' The information really makes the reader think twice about the West's cultural, historical, and scientific perspectives on the nature of sexuality. Read this book, be it for a class or personal education. At the very least you'll come out with some interesting facts about human behavior, but more likely you'll change your entire perspective on what it means to be aware of sexuality.

    Great Teacher, Great Book!!!

I had to get this text book for Bruce King's Psychology class Fall 2004. I never knew that I would learn so much about sex. The book was very informative by giving student stories and even talking about rumors and different beliefs that other societies had about sex.

A must-read when discussing sexuality issues

This book was originally written as a companion textbook to the author's course on Human Sexual Behavior at the University of New Orleans, and was originally titled 'Human Sexuality: a Louisiana Perspective.' The end of each chapter has a short quiz you can take to see if you understand the information. I would highly recommend that parents who are faced with discussing sexuality issues with children read this book before doing so. It is also a must-read if you're off to college or going out into the real world (though, some of the information is of a frank nature, it is very well written so as not to be offensive). If obtaining this book for a student, don't let anyone below High School age look at it- it's not appropriate for the younger ones unless the parent(s) read it with them.
