Overview

The year is 1945. Roosevelt is President. World War II is coming to a head. Thieves, spies and other wise guys are working everywhere…including in branches of the U.S. government.

Chloe Lambert is a sweet little thing whom mothers love to love and sailors love to pinch. She's also a sharp-tongued Secret Service agent—a Secret Service agent who has been framed for murder by a band of counterfeiters.

Mike Taurus, also an agent, is tough as nails, cool as ice and devilishly handsome. He also has a past with Chloe.

As the two of them make a mad dash from Washington, D.C. to Miami Beach, they'll stop at nothing to solve this monumental caper. It's a made-for-the-movies adventure that Alfred Hitchcock could only wish he'd dreamed up himself!

This is a stand-alone book in The Good Girls of Washington series.

Meet the Author

Sherry is a typical American homemaker. In between loads of laundry, she cooks up delicious new plot twists. She has so many first responders to the Nation's Capitol in her family tree, she feels compelled to wonder what if... And another novel writes itself. Okay, so it's not that easy. Well, The Immaculate Deception was. She wrote that tome in five weeks flat, just channeling her muse into the keyboard. When she's not writing or lunching with her writer pals, Sherry enjoys group exercise classes, especially Gentle Yoga and Body Pump (an hour long barbell lifting class choreographed to wild music). Train travel is a must, and her favorite destination is Disney.

    too confusing!

this is one of the most confusing books I have ever read! I think the author was trying for a breezy, Bogart kind of appeal but you couldn't keep track of what was happening half the time. Random events just cropped up and weren't addressed and major plot points just appeared with no warning. I lost interest about chapter 3 but forced my way through it to see what happened. Not worth the time, I'm deleting it.
