Hunt For The Wooden Stratonaut
An astronaut lay still in the massive underground bunker, propped up against the dormant rocket as moss and lichen overtook the concrete. Red white and blue was slowly being covered by green.
Staring down at the astronaut was a mockery of his form. Its body grown from wood, flowers, and vines, it struggled to understand why the man in the space-suit had forced its hand. Now the human was dead, and the Stratonaut was left to wonder about the state of nature on this savage planet.
Its work was far from done, and it prayed to the Homeworld that no more blood would spill.

About the Author

Raymond Anganes is an American writer of creature horror, cosmic wonder, surrealist adventure,
and human kindness. His work in the field of biotech, his affinity for wilderness camping, and his
fascination with the natural world around him have inspired two fully realized novels:
Soul Herder , his debut, published in 2022, and Europan Reef Gold, published in 2023.
Thousands of pages of sci-fi, fantasy, and horror fiction sit in his hard drive and notebooks, some of
which has been published in the Dead River Review literary magazine.

He currently has two short films, Red Void and SCP: Redacted in production with Silent Rift Studios.

Raymond works as a genetics lab technician and a middle school archery coach, and one of the few physical
copies of his first, still unpublished novel, resides in the McMurdo Station Antarctica Library.
