    Hunted

As becomes evident after reading my review of "Chosen" by Denise Grover Swank I LOVED the book (basically everything about it was top-notch in my opinion, from the character development, to the fast paced and unique plot). While I did enjoy this book, I must admit that overall I on the fence about how I feel about it.

On the one hand, I applaud Denise for writing a paranormal plot that is wholly unique, but on the other hand, I felt that at times (the ending especially) was too "out there" and rushed (basically the entire paranormal element, what you have been waiting for two books to be revealed, is revealed within the last chapter or so of this book). Also, for much of the book I was irritated by Emma (when in the past book I had found her to be such a relateable character)- I felt that she was not only did she take advantage of Will in much of the book, but she also took him for granted. However, Will's was even more so swoon-worthy in this book, distracting me every now and again from Emma's boogerish behaviour.

Despite my criticisms, this book was just as fast paced and unputdownable as the previous book- you better plan accordingly because once you start reading it you won't be able to stop. I am very curious to see where Denise will take the paranormal element in the next book in this series.

    Striking a Balance

It's always a nerve wracking thing, to pick up a sequel. Will it let you down? Will it be mostly filler? Will ti take the characters to places you won't like, or that make you unhappy with the direction they're headed?

In HUNTED's case, it's none of the above. The book has substance, and instead of leaving us in the dark as we head toward a final book in a series, it answers plenty of the questions left unanswered by CHOSEN. Of course, plenty more questions pop up in their wake, but they propel us forward on this wild ride (what other kind of ride could it be, with Emma and Will at the wheel?).

There are parts of this book that are tough for readers like me, who love and are rooting for Will, but the emotion issues Emma is dealing with are real and fill out her character more than ever. Even though I'm on Team Will, I'm also on Team Emma figuring out that everyone she loves isn't going to leave her. One of the best things about this series is that even though there is this huge, overarching, dangerous storyline that affects the whole world, it's also a small story about a woman who's never caught a break, and how she figures out how to bury the past and move forward without letting it affect any happiness she might have in the future.
    I
'm eagerly awaiting the rest of my answers in the next installment.

    Loved it...an amazing story continues!

Some sequels pale in comparison to the first in the series but Hunted is just as amazing Chosen. It had just as much suspense and emotional connections between characters. (I was especially touched by Emma and Jake's "connection.") The pace remains fast (much like Emma's mad driving skills) and you are left breathless and wanting more. The story keeps unfolding and I can't imagine what will happen next. I am anxiously awaiting the 3rd book in the series!

    Just when you think...

I loved Chosen (the 1st in the series) and fell in love with the characters. This book starts with Emma & Will on their search for Emma's son Jake and answers to the questions that rule their lives, but don't get comfortable. These characters are put their every conceivable situation and just when you think you know what's going to happen...BAM!

Just as good as the first, this book keeps you guessing & wanting to turn the next page. My only disappointment is that the next book is not out yet so I have to wait to read what's next for Emma, Will & Jake.

If you like the super natural. this is a must read.

After reading The Chosen, I had to read The Hunted. It picks up exactly where The Chosen left off. I could hardly put it down. Denise Grover Swank is a master at writing a supernatural suspense novels. She keeps you guessing about what is going to happen next. Definitely a must read, but you need to read The Chosen first.

    Okay

The first book started out showing a lot of promise, I think it lost steam toward the end and this one didn't pick it back up again.

    highly recommend

This series was not my usual type of book, but the story was decent and kept my interest. I would read more of this type of story occasionally.

    OK read

Okay, but gets repetative and slow. I've not finished and already I don't if I really care how it ends.
