Children's Literature - Patricia Williamson
Mystery, intrigue, and a race against time—all this spells danger for Chass who has just moved into town with her mother. She is walking through the snow when she trips over the dead body of Miss Hill, a teacher from the school. Chass begins to investigate the death and discovers all the town's secrets and skeleton past. In it she becomes the focus of the killer's attention and gets a clue in a song…she feels compelled to solve the mystery when her mother, wearing Chass' yellow hat, gets shot. The killer meant that to be her. The race is on in the snow blizzard to reach the silo. What is the significance of the silo? Why the farm? Who is Kyle and why if he left town so long ago is he back in their lives? What happened to Kyle's family? How far in the white-out is the answer? All of this and more are revealed in White-out, a mystery in the "Hunted" series. The book stands alone, with no need to have read a previous book in the series to make sense of the story. Chass is being hunted and she must find the answer before the answer finds her. Reviewer: Patricia Williamson

I love the Hunted series Every time I finish one book, I want another. This story seemed different from the other two. This one seemed slower but yet somehow better. Every time I wanted to put it down because I thought I knew everything, so I kept reading; the further I got in the book the more I realized that I didn't know who did it or for that fact what was going on and why they did it. My motives were all wrong and so were my killers. I loved the fact that Walter Sorrels set this book in a different environment. People you thought were good were bad and people you thought were bad were good. It always kept you on the edge of your seat guessing who did it and why. In the end I was amazed to find out who did it. I was also glad that I didn't stop reading. P.S. (To choose who have never read the series): This is the third book. You don't have to read them in order to understand what is going on but it's always better to start from the begging.
