He was born to kill her…but he’ll risk all to save her.
Wild Hunt, Book 1
Every day, Harley fights the urge to embrace the dark heritage that could turn her Unseelie. Evil. Bad. A nightmarish monster like the ones that wiped out her family. The only thing keeping her on this side of Seelie is a promise made to the ghostly man who saved her that terrible night.
Whenever she’s tempted, she calls up a vision of his eyes. Hears his voice calling her back from the brink of madness. Years later, when she returns to the scene of her living hell, he’s her only hope for salvation.
Calan, the leader of the Wild Hunt, was created to protect mankind from the Unseelie Court, not love one of them. He never expected the rightness he felt with her all those years ago would explode into desire.
But saving her from a fate she can’t escape could damn them both…and leave the world open for destruction.
Warning: Contains a half-fae woman who could really use a Seelie version of AA to stay clean and monster-free. And a rider of the Wild Hunt who’ll take any risk to keep her safe from her enemies. Including himself.

This novel is intensely poetic and wildly imaginative. Corrigan draws you into this vivid world of humans and fae and takes you on a wild ride. Her eloquently crafted descriptions bring this story to life in a larger than life, yet easy to picture manner. The storyline is unforgettable and one of a kind. Darkness and light battle in this well-crafted novel. Love, sacrifice and redemption will tug at your heart, keeping you coming back for more. It is a must read for lovers of all things fae. I loved the characters in this novel. The main characters were quite well developed and easy to get to know. The differing speech patterns really draws a focus to their difference in origins. Corrigan’s development of the wild hunt, both as a single entity and as individuals, provides a very unique secondary cast as well as substance and magic to the story itself. This is one new series that I’ll most definitely be following closely. Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.
Independent reviewer for Paranormal Romance and Authors That Rock, I was gifted a copy of this book, via Netgalley, for review. Harley fights the darkness that threatens her everyday. It finds her and she runs again. But when she is forced to return to the scene of her family's brutal murder, Harley discovers her saviour, the one thing that kept her going, is very real. Calan is real. The Wild Hunt have been imprisoned for a millennia, after Calan led them into a trap. He needs Harley to release him, so he can release his brothers and sisters. Harley is also his mate. But it seems that everyone is a pawn in a much bigger game than anyone realises, and Harley and Calan face the ultimate sacrifice. This book takes place more than a millennia after Hunter Sacrificed. I would recommend you read that first. its not necessary, but for me, I think its probably best you do. Calan is one of Arawn's Teulu, The Wild Hunt, the leader of the Hunt. He spent all that time chained up, taking the pain of his siblings so they don't give into the madness that is creeping in on them. He saved Harley at the time of her family's murder by projecting to her, and leading her away. When she returns home, he does that same again, and she comes to him. Harley is half Seelie, a child of Dar, Lord of the UnSeelie. As she gets older, she has to fight the taint of her father, the darkness that creeps around her heart. Calan calms her, and protects from it, as she calms him. Dar is still trying to unleash his Chaos, and looks to be getting closer to his goal, so Calan needs all his brothers and sisters along side him on the Hunt. Different, but good different. You get to hear from both Calan and Harley. You get to feel their pain as decisions are made that not only affect them, but the entire world. You get to feel their love for each other. Harley doesn't say it it til right near the end for reasons I'll not go into, but you feel it. Arawn, father to all of the Hunt Riders (well, almost all, again, not explaining!)makes an appearance here to give (unwanted) counsel to Calan. I'm glad he pops up. I did think he might not, but he does, so I'm pleased about that. I alos hope he plays a part in future books too. Because I want to read them! I've not read anything by this author before, but I will certainly look to. This series, especially. Book two is laid out here too. Harley's older brother, Ian. Not saying what happens here, because that will spoil it, but I am so waiting for that one! Very highly recommended. 4.5 stars **same worded review will appear on Goodreads, Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.com and Netgalley**
An intense and soul-shattering love. Arawn, Lord of the Underworld conceived his Huntsmen to defeat the Unseelie reigning terror on earth, to imprison them in the deepest bowels of hell. He cursed them to hold the barriers of hell itself with their suffering. Unfortunately, his very curse has been turned on his beloved children, his Hunters. For a millennium, his Hunters have willing suffered to keep the barriers in place. Only one of his sons remains free from the torments of hell. Still his son is not totally free for even he is bound. Calan, eldest and leader of the hunt led his brethren into a trap eons ago. Now he suffers from the guilt as he lies chained to a wall for eons, that is until his soul touches a young half fae woman trying to escape the murderous intent of the slaugh. In one rash move he ties his soul to hers, his mate. He imparts the secrets she’ll need to survive and extracts her promise that she’ll return. But years speed by as he awaits her return. This woman he has chosen to mate, this woman he has imbued with his love, this woman he will give anything for... Harley has spent a lifetime sheltered and at times imprisoned. But as she turns eighteen she has decided it’s time to break free from the prison of home and fly the coup. Unfortunately, in sheltering her from the things that rule the night her parents have sheltered her from the truth as well. They’ve kept from her, her heritage. Learning you are the daughter of all that is evil and that you are only a hairsbreadth from turning yourself would be a shock to anyone. Watching your family brutally slain by a red cap and his slaugh then living life on the run would be a nightmare for anyone. Her only salvation lay in the disembodied ghost that imparted what she needed to know to stay one step ahead of danger… and sometimes not even that. A trip home brings things full circle and she is once more connected to her ghost… but is he her ghost or the love and salvation she craves? The battle has just begun and fate is about to demand sacrifices all around. Hunter Deceived is a great start to the Wild Hunt series. I can’t wait to read Hunter Forsaken. If you are looking for something just a bit dark and full of the fantasy of the wild hunt, gods and wicked unseelie and yet full of hot, steamy love then the Wild Hunt series promises to deliver. *****Reviewed for Xtreme-Delusions*****
Hunter Deceived (Wild Hunt #1) by Nancy Corrigan Hunter Deceived by Nancy Corrigan is a fast-paced interesting story about Fae that takes place in a modern setting. Calan, the leader of the Wild Hunt, has been imprisoned by Dar, the ruler of the Unseelie Court, and unable to protect the humans from their wrath. He needs the help of Dar’s half-breed daughter, Harley, to release him. He falls in love with her, and both will need to make sacrifices to save themselves and the world. Nancy Corrigan does a great job with her character development. I like Calan. He is a worthy leader. He is willing to make sacrifices, unfortunately it doesn’t always work out as he plans. He has a good heart and tries to do what is best for mankind and his family. Harley has had a difficult life. Despite her father, she is a good person. I like that she is tough and has strong morals. Raul is an attention-grabbing bad guy. I enjoyed that he was a redcap. He kept you guessing about his actions. I like that the plot was based off of mythology. The ending was fantastic and definitely left me wanting to continue reading the series. Nancy Corrigan’s Hunter Deceived is a strong foundation for the Wild Hunt Series.
