His vow to save mankind turns him into the father of the damned…

Arawn, Lord of the Underworld, is faced with the hardest decision of his long life. Because of his neglect, humans are suffering…but his vow to make things right could cost him everything he holds dear.

Minerva, the Goddess of Love, holds his heart and soul, but the act he must now commit might very well destroy their love.

But his sacrifice doesn’t go far enough to end the humans’ agony. It compounds it—and turns him into a pawn. He cannot renege on his deal with the Triad, but he can avenge those he’s wronged.

To do that, he’ll need every one of his Huntsmen to win the greatest game of all time—the Wild Hunt.

Warning: Goodness and light vs. sacrifice and darkness. Seriously, what could possibly go wrong?

Nancy Corrigan’s prequel to the Wild Hunt Series, Hunter Sacrificed, is an astounding foundation to the series. Arawn, Lord of the Underworld, makes the ultimate sacrifice in order to help preserve the human race, risking the love of his mate, Minerva. His detriment does not go as planned, so he takes vengeance for those he wronged with the help of the Wild Hunt. This paranormal fantasy is suitable for adult audiences. Nancy Corrigan does a considerable job developing a new story based on mythology. This action-packed story was entertaining and a great foundation for the series. The story was well written with multiple twists. At 52-pages, this story is a quick read but with a lot of content. I look forward to reading additional books in this series. Complimentary copy provided in exchange for an honest review.

If you know anything about Gods and Goddesses of any pantheon, then you will know that things are never smooth and simple. Instead, confusion abounds until such time as it makes sense. This is how I would describe Hunter Sacrificed. It is a short prequel that nevertheless manages to impart a huge amount of information. You learn about Minerva and Arawn, the Triad, and how the Wild Hunt comes to be. Although this was short, it was very well written, with no editing or grammatical errors that I found. This is enough to whet your appetite and definitely leave you wanting more. Definitely recommended. * Verified Purchase on Amazon * Merissa Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!

We all have hard decisions to make in life, could you decide between the woman you love to the very depths of your soul and a vow to correct the wrongs against humanity? Arawn, the Lord of the Underworld will risk everything, including the love he shares with Minerva, the Goddess of Love as a pawn to the Triad. While he cannot break his vow, he can gather his Huntsmen to avenge those who have suffered. Prepare for the ultimate battle between good and evil, prepare for high tension, high energy and high risks as Nancy Corrigan presents the flagship novella leading into her series, Wild Hunt, Hunter Sacrificed. Nancy Corrigan has filled this brief tale with passion, angst and sacrifice, setting the stage with great attention to atmosphere and the images of each scene. Who would think the Lord of the Underworld would stand for the innocent humans? Prepare to be hesitant to leave this mythological world that promises great adventure. I received a review copy from the author, Nancy Corrigan in exchange for my honest review.

I was given a complimentary copy for an honest review by author Nancy Corrigan. This is the first book from the Wild Hunt series by the author. Arawn was chosen as Lord of the Underworld and he has lived in a part of hell ruling over it. When the king of faeries threatens to destroy the human race because of Arawn's neglect he comes up with a plan to destroy the king. But the price he is giving up is his mates love and she might not ever forgive him for it.

The endless question of duty or love... Hunter Sacrificed is the prequel to the Wild Hunt series. While it has a romance and has an all-consuming love at its center it’s about the sacrifice of love to ensure the salvation of mankind. The story is very short and heart wrenching. Beings as it is the prequel to the series please do not expect an HEA… you will not get one here. You will, however, get a good understanding of who Arawn, Lord of the Underworld is. He is neither evil or good. He is merely the god of the Underworld and he suffers daily with the yoke he must bare. His only solace is his mate, Minerva, Goddess of Love. And yet that solace will not turn back the tides of destruction to come. His only hope is in the huntsmen he creates. *****Reviewed for Xtreme-Delusions*****

This book was a great quick read. It paved the way for the series by giving you a little background. Arawn is the Lord of the Underworld. He was chosen by the Triad for the duty. He neglected his duty being with the one he loves. Minerva is the goddess of Love and when Arawn is with her he can’t hear the suffering of those in hell. He must now fix what his neglect caused. The only way to fix it may force him to love Minerva. He must sacrifice something, but will it be enough of a sacrifice? Arawn gets the distinct feeling he is just a pawn in a bigger game that he doesn’t know all the rules to. Will his sacrifice help or hurt what he is trying to do? He cannot undo undo his deal with the Triad so he will just have to do everything in his power to fix what he has messed up. Arawn is faced with the hardest decision of his life. He knows what he must do and has for a while however doing so could cause him to loss the love of his life. Once he tells Minerva of his plan she does not want him to go through with it. This book was an interesting read. I love all supernatural/paranormal books. The myth and magic behind them are great. This seems like it’s going to be a great series based on this prequel. I look forward to reading the first book in this series. This is the first book I have read by Nancy and look forward to reading more by her. She has set the beginning of a great series with this book. I was given this book in return for an honest review.

Corrigan brings forward a brand new take on the Lord of the Underworld and the Goddess of Love. Both as individuals and in their roles in the world they intrigued and enchanted me. This novella is well written with a voice that really put me in touch with the man character. His desolation shone through. Corrigan writes sex as a natural extension of her characters, intrinsic to who they are yet still hot as hell! Corrigan also gives fantastic historical background between the god and the unseelie king, taking readers into the series proper well informed, while also telling an exciting and at times emotional tale. The seamless world building allowed me to picture the world that Corrigan has created in all its dark glory. This short story definitely launches Corrigan’s series into the realm of the unforgettable. I would highly recommend this story to those who enjoy a racy fantasy series. Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.
