Meet the Author

Marianne Morea is a New Yorker, born and bred, and for the most part her stories and characters embody the grit and complexity of the city. An avid traveler, she uses her experiences from around the world in all her books. There isn’t a place her characters live or travel that she haven’t been herself, and through her words, tries to transport my readers. Like most authors, her love affair with the written word started as a child with the books she read. Even today, she loves to read almost as much as she loves to write. Marianne’s favorite stories are the ones that transport her, that bring her to places and introduces her to characters that leave readers breathless…the ones that spark the fire of her imagination, allowing her to dream in the world of ‘what if?’ She’s always been a scribbler, and from the time she could write her name, Marianne has been making up stories. So it was no surprise to family and friends when she earned degrees in both Journalism and Fine Art, but after working in the trenches of Madison Avenue as a Graphic Artist, she decided to do what she loves most fulltime. Write. Her dark paranormal romance, Blood Legacy, is the first book in her Legacy Series, and takes you from New York City to the Costa del la Luz in Spain, to foggy London and the romance of Rome. The story also takes you back in time 300 years to a place rife with conflict and brutality, bringing an historical edge to my vampires, their lives, a love that spanned the centuries and the search for absolution and redemption that carries death in its wake. Hunter’s Blood and Twice Cursed are books one and two in Marianne Morea’s contemporary shifter series, Cursed by Blood. The story is set on the east coast of the U.S., taking you from the rocky coast of Maine to the heart of New York City, the NYPD and the vampire underground. Revenge and the struggle for power all play a part in this urban fantasy suspense, where Weres and Vampires are forced to work together to solve the mystery of what’s tearing their veiled world apart from the inside out.In the meantime Marianne is also a founding member and the current President of The Paranormal Romance Guild, a not-for-profit organization for readers and authors of the genre. Of course, she’s still writing, and when not sitting ‘bichok’ (but in a chair hands on keyboard), she’s spending time with her husband and three kids, traveling to exciting, romantic places …for inspiration, of course! Who says dreams can’t come true?

Hunter's Blood Lily Saburi and Terry Hess have been best friend

    Hunter's Blood

Lily Saburi and Terry Hess have been best friends all their lives and when Lily lost her parents it was Tess's parent who took her in, loved her unconditionally and raised her as their own. Lily's life though is once again stuck by tragedy when Tess is brutally attacked and killed while on a routine investigation with Lily for the police.

Sean Leighton has been chosen to lead the Brethren of Weres. In accepting his role and responsibilities he is granted the powers to shift into any form allowing him to better understand all those he protects. Some of the Weres are turning feral including Sean's brother and he must find the reason and stop it before it destroys them all.

Lily knows what killed Tess and she and she wants revenge for her friend so each night she suits up to track and kill the supernatural's that prey on the humans determined to find the one she is looking for. When confronted with a feral Were and mortally injured Lily is rescued by Sean who himself is out tracking his brother, the same Were that is now attacking Lily. Lily is about to face a whole new reality and she will need to trust Sean if she is to get through it but how is that possible when he is everything her hatred has been based on!!

Hunter's Blood was engaging to read it has a great storyline and characters you believe in. I look forward to reading more of this series and seeing in what direction Ms Morea chooses to take her characters and storyline.

    Just ok

Stats: paranormal were romance. Rated R sex and language. Typical story of bad-ass fighting woman with a tragic back story and some supernatural powers who falls for another supe. Bleh. I love a sexy paranormal romance, but I need to have a great plot to keep me interested and to make the relationships believable. This one didn't do it for me. The concept was interesting, but the dialogue wasn't realistic--i.e. a grown man doesn't exclaim "Holy $hit" to another man. I'll pass on any more books in this series.

GREAT START TO A NEW SERIES!!!

I have had the pleasure of being given an 'advanced' copy of a new Series by a new upcoming author, Marianne Morea. I must tell you this book was such a pleasant surprise

Lily Saburi has one goal in mind.revenge. After her best friend and partner Terry Hess was brutally murdered by a rogue animal, Lily wants nothing more than to destroy the killer. Lily Saburi is a well known psychic investigator and has worked to help solve cases for the NYC Police Department. Haunted by her best friend, Lily is not going to stop until the attacker is found. This leads her into more danger than she realizes. After she tracks the animal, she is savagely attacked and bitten by it. Now she carries a deadly virus that may kill her. Sean Leighton, the head of The Hunter's Council has been assigned to hunt and destroy anything that threatens his pack.including anyone who is carrying a deadly virus. Now that he has met Lily, Sean must make a choice between the woman he has grown to love and the pack he's pledged to protect.

Ms Morea, has separated herself from the crowd, and has executed an enchanting story of the paranormal with ghosts, werewolves, and vampires The story line is fast paced, realistic, fraught with danger, sexual tension, and scientific realism for you Sci-fi buffs.. This well written Novella sets us up for the next book in the New Series called Twice Cursed, ,which should not disappoint.

Lily Saburi worked with her best friend Terri as psychic investigators. They helped the police solve the unsolvable. On one unlucky investigation, Terri was murdered by a rabid were. From that point on, Lily’s focus became revenge. She trained, she hunted and she was determined to put the animal that murdered her only friend down.
Sean Leighton has another problem. He’s the alpha of a community of supernaturals, one where many werewolf packs are trying to form a solid, supportive democracy. Their community is working together for the benefit of all the packs involved. Leadership is a hard mantle for this Alpha.
These two are thrown together, as the werewolf that killed Terri is the brother of Sean. This tale is woven together in a fast paced opening tale to the Blood Saga Series. You wonder if love will triumph, since the lead character is literally gunning for the Alpha’s brother. You wonder if the Alpha’s instant awareness of the special relationship that is about to blossom is doomed from the beginning, since his brother injured her.
Sean is definitely between a rock and a hard place and the reader is left holding a book that leaves you wanting more! This is a series that I’ll definitely be reading more of.

We're told she's Lily's a kick-ass heroine, but I didn't see it. She got nailed in the beginning and (maybe because the writings are novella pieces) she didn't do much in the way of kicking ass. I kept waiting for something to happen, to show Lily's toughness. She's got bark and no bite. Yet, it was a freebie.

Absolutely love this book. I just purchased the next one in the series and can't wait to read it. I rarely buy books. I read mostly whatever our local library has on the shelves but every once in awhile I come across an author that I don't mind spending the money. Marianne Morea is one of those authors. This book has love, loss, weres, passionate love scenes, interference from a member of the pack and you just know he is up to something nasty. Lily is the kick butt heroine who is out for revenge after her best friend is killed, who then falls for Sean who is a take charge guy with secrets of his own. I loved all the characters and the whole story. I laughed in some parts and almost cried in others. This is definitely a must read!!
