Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble
The Barnes & Noble Review
Readers who like their erotica highly charged, greatly varied, and full of fangs will find pleasure in Diana Whiteside's collection of erotic tales about Texas vampires.

Two extremely hunky and thirsty Texas nightstalkers, Don Rafael Perez and Ethan Templeton, are the stars throughout the collection, sometimes individually, sometimes together. In each of the stories, the female narrator is promised the greatest sexual excitement of her life in return for one small favor: a drop of blood or two. The narrators range from two repressed sisters, a female cat burglar, and a loving wife to a love-starved widow and a dateless cop. All find satisfaction in a variety of explicit fantasies, and one story -- of Grania and Rafael -- promises to unfold into its own trilogy. Definitely for the more adventurous romance reader! Not for me

In the beginning I found some of the stories all right. I gathered that this was not really a romance from the beginning, but I had imagined the men to be a bit more alpha male. A lot of the stories just were bland and a bit ridiculous, but, I can honestly say I really started to lose interest when I read the story of the mother telling her child about her erotic story in detail. It grossed me out. It is one thing to tell your child an exciting man you meet and had a so called affair or even elaborate a bit on it. But to get down into detail was just plain nasty. I had to skip over this story. I did try and give it another chance by reading on to a couple more stories. I actually almost finished this book but I really, really couldn't read on anymore it was moving in a direction of erotica that is just not for me. This is the second book of Diane Whiteside that I have read. I was not impressed with the prior story in Captive Dreams but I have to say that it was much better than this book.

I vant Don Rafael to suck my blood!

Wow! From beginning to end, the stories in this book are incredible! I'm a transplanted Texan and I can tell you, if there was a Don Rafael here, I'd give a big Yee Haw! Each story is lush, vivid in detail and description and the intimate encounters are explosive. Treat yourself to samplings of this wonderful new, erotic author's work and read Hunter's Prey. I guarantee, you'll be reconsidering men of the nocturnal variety! Dakota Cassidy

    more from this reviewer

    ten fine erotic vampire tales

These ten erotic tales showcase the erotic tales exploits of three Lone Star vampires, Don Rafael, Ethan and Jean-Marie starting in Reconstruction Era Texas to modern day trysts. These are not romances with happy ever after endings, and the key characters, the vampiric trio and their one night stand women are never fully developed. However, the escapades are torrid, passionate, and run the gamut of much of the range of sexual encounters including bondage. An interesting twist is that the females recount their most ardent capers with their supernatural lovers though once told lose the memory of their greatest night of lovemaking. These stories are Venusian hot, perhaps even pornographic, yet well written fans of vampiric sexual escapades will enjoy this collection while looking forward to feature starring roles of the Texas vampires. --- Harriet Klausner
