    and we all thought shelly's wolf packs were hot! well whatch out here comes the ravens!!

    I was skeptical at first to read this new series, since im so into the magnus pack, and the shifters, and i cant forget the dragons. But as soon as i began to read I was unable to put the nook down. I love the crows and adore the ravens. Neecy and Will are a knock out team, literally. As leaders of their crews they bump heads alot on their views of how things should work. You cant help but fall in love with will yager and his "Nice ways" not to mentions the crows are a bunch of hard knocks just waiting for a good party, you cant resist wishing you were there with them at one of their gatherings. I was hooked on this book since page 7, and I know you will too, I cant wait to read more about the gathering and their lives, Im especially hoping the we read about tye and janelle next, I just love the way quiet tye stares at her in his sort of stocking way! For all you shelly fans, this is a must read yet again, be prepared to be tossed into a world where shifters meet gods and the crows, from begining to end you will want more and will not be disapointed.

    A murderous bunch of Crows & Ravens are gathering to kick some unrighteous ass!!!!!!!!

    When I first saw that Shelly was doing a "Viking" book rather than the Pride/Pack series, I was a little concerned, but clearly I was nuts to limit her. This was just as cool and raunchy and bad-ass as all the lions & wolves & bears... oh my, yes!!!

    So, we have Neecy, a former real life bad girl drug dealer who'd do anything to get out of her back street life to get an education and that takes her down a really dark and dead-end road...literally. So when her drug-dealer boyfriend shoots her dead at 16, she gets a second chance when the goddess Skuld snatches her from the jaws of death for a very mortal afterlife as a Crow, winged chicks who definitely aren't vegans.
    2nd in command to Didi, she rides herd on a band of equally tough winged warriors who know how to party, to kill, and who even scare Shifters.

    Our hero - and he really is one - is Yager, Viking warrior to Odin who has a thing for Neecy that will not quit. She doesn't do meaningful relationships because she's too busy leading her girls and teaching college classes (see, that quest for education came out right after all!)to have time for hearts and flowers. But Yager is a persistent and horny (and I ain't talking the horned helmets)warrior and he will do anything to win Neecy and keep her safe.

    And, yes, if you're new to Laurenston's work, her characters have dirty mouths, coarse manners, filthy minds and the toned bodies to put all that to some really explicit use.

    With Laurenston's usual mix of laugh-out-loud hilarity, filthy snickers, eccentric to the nth degree characters, and enough blood and gore to suit even a comic book/horror movie fan, Hunting Season is a great addition to her Pack/Pride world and her Dragon world writing as G.A. Aiken. And with Tye and Janelle and Mike and Arri waiting in the wings, I have to assume there will be sequels.

    I'm lining up right now for a Crow tattoo...well, maybe one of those fake ones!

    Laugh Out Loud Funny!!

    I'm a fan of Shelley's other books and was cautious about this new series. I thoroughly enjoyed Neecy's and Will's story and how both characters evolved. The scene, "the silent fight," had me laughing until I cried. If this is your first read of Shelley's I think the characters will feel like friends and keep you laughing.

    Good and bad

    I love the concept of the Crows, Ravens, Valkyries, Shifters, and Gods; but it was an underdeveloped storyline for me. The Gods didn't seem Godly rather just bigger juveniles. I expect Gods to possess wisdom and foresight having lived for so long. The backgrounds of the characters could have been expounded upon. The so called humor and comradely banter of the Crows and Ravens reminds of a failed attempt to recreate sentimentality from the Magnus Pack series. The subplot of the God testing Neecy in such a matter was ridiculous to me. The whole Karl Waldgrave thing felt anti-climatic for me. The erotic scenes were just okay. I think they should have been more mind blowing seeing how Neecy was such a resistant in charge type female. I do think this can be a great series if the author takes time to properly develop. There is room for so much conflict and subplots. The love story between Arri and Mike could very interesting. Come on Laurenston exhale and dig in. This series could expand to double digit books if you give a great foundation. Shifters falling in love with Crows and Ravens. Crows becoming friends with Valkyries and being betrayed as they seek the affection of a Raven. Gods falling in love with each other and upsetting other Gods who then cause chaos. Students learning too much. Mortals getting objects that cause drama. Someone erotic enough to capture Odin's heart. Skuld's sisters being jealous and causing unrest. Didi hating a retirement and coming back or her husband being killed and she is lead to believe that a _____ did it and she seeks to avenge his death. You get the idea.

    Hate at first sight

    WHAT A COMPLETE WASTE OF MY TIME. I usually love Shelly Laurenston's books. Her Pack books were on point!!! But this felt like a rip off from the the Black Dagger Brotherhood. She had no originality. It didn't even seem like her writing. I was utterly and totally disappointed with these characters. They seemed like a watered down Miki and Conall with no chemistry. She usually has humor in her books and a sense of belonging but I didn't feel any adhesiveness to the story.

    Too funny!

    I love this author's sense of humor. If you want a book that makes you gufaw while you giggle, this is the one. Loved the characters and sticky situations they get themselves into. I actually know some folks who actually act just like many of the characters in the book, but without the wings and magic. Although at times I wonder! I can't wait for Shelly's next sequel. Anytime a book keeps me out of the stores, it's really good and this is the one! Keep up the good work Shelly. We definitely need more humor in the world! Great job!
