Features: This edition surpasses its predecessor with 19 new chapters and 59 new authors from around the world. One such chapter focuses on the essential topic of assessing and improving quality of care, as well as cost-effective strategies in cardiology. The chapters on scientific foundations of cardiovascular medicine have been updated and integrated into the clinically focused chapters of the book, providing a more reader-friendly design. There is now a separate chapter on cardiac transplantation, and the entire section on valvular heart disease has been rewritten by new authors who are authorities in the field.
