About the Author

  DAS, MADAN MOHAN  MADAN MOHAN DAS, MS (Cornell University, USA), PhD (University of Strathclyde, UK), has been Professor, Civil Engineering Department, Assam Engineering College, Guwahati. An Emeritus Fellow of AICTE, Director of Technical Education, Government of Assam and a Telford Premium, 1981, winner jointly with Late Emeritus Professor D.I.H. Barr of University of Strathclyde for one of their research papers by the Council of Institute Civil Engineers (ICE), London, he has more than four decades of teaching experience and three decades of research experience. Dr. Das is the author of nine books, all published by PHI Learning. He has published/presented more than 63 research papers in national and international journals and conferences. His research interest includes hydrodynamics, free surface flow, irrigation, water power engineering and hydrology.      SAIKIA, MIMI DAS  MIMI DAS SAIKIA, PhD (IIT Guwahati), is a Professor, Civil Engineering, Assam Down Town University, Guwahati. She has been a Lecturer with the Department of Civil Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Silchar, an Associate Professor, Civil Engineering, Royal School of Engineering and Technology (RSET), Guwahati and Professor, Regional Institute of Science and Technology (RIST), Meghalaya. With more than 15 years of experience in teaching and research, she has published/presented more than twenty papers in different international and national journals and conferences. Her research interests include pipe friction, open channel flow and dam-break flood analysis. Dr. Mimi Das Saikia has authored and co-authored seven books, all published by PHI Learning.      DAS, BHARGAB MOHAN  BHARGAB MOHAN DAS, ME (AIT), is the Chief Business Development Officer, Ritta Co. Ltd., Thailand. Mr. Das possesses experience of varied nature of projects relevant to Academic Research and Construction all over the Asia, Middle East and parts of Europe.
