All Music Guide - Steve Huey
On Hymnal, their fourth album, SoCal punk revivalists Dirtclodfight seem as much in debt to Seattle grunge as they do to punk-pop -- not just Nirvana, but to the dirtier, more metallic offerings from bands like the Melvins, Tad, and early Soundgarden. While they aren't entirely original, the best tracks display a unique perspective.
