Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Judy Silverman
Marble and sandstone, diamond and talc, all are minerals, and simple questions with the answers built in may stimulate children's interest in them. This is a science riddle book aimed at preschoolers up to grade one. The collage-style illustrations are cleverly arranged to show depth on the flat paper surface. The first question is actually a history question, and a little misleading, but the answer is a mineral, so it fits in, and the rest of the questions and answers are good fun. We don't often think of talcum powder as coming from a substance that must be ground.
