Combining scholarship, testimonio, and chisme, the essays throw open a panoramic view onto mystic and fascinating landscapes of memory and imagination that will help readers envision the collective Latino self"--John Phillip Santos.

    This is a great book!

This book is great for Chicana/o students trying to find their voices. You don't have to be dry and boring! These essays show Chicana/o scholars writing about how their ideas and their families and their personal histories and their experiences all work together to make for the best kind of thinking and writing. I especially liked the essay about a family history revolving around a secret rape and the start of a Latina lesbian magazine. Yes, gossip can be theory!!
