In 2003, the author encountered a mother with a child having trouble working the ATM. His initial irritation grew to concern when he realized that the woman could not read. It then occurred to him how important it was to empower a family with strong readers, providing them with positive life options; after all, parents are suppose to instill the need to learn in their children, arenât they?
This became the foundation for his cause.
âDads Love 2 Readâ is a program the author initiated in 2006, with an aim to improve reading and confidence in many young people. The program promotes forty-five minutes of reading time per day directly in the schools, before school time starts. The author is looking to expand the program into more elementary schools making it available to more kids. Through this book, he invites readers to take part in his continued effort to accomplish this goal
