    Crown Jewel of Books!

I am That and for that matter anything that is a work of Nisargadatta Maharaj is always a work of true spiritual realization in action. I am That has just about the most simple, profound and nonsense free approach imaginable for something of such depth and beauty. Out of the thousands of spiritual books out there, I am That is a crown jewel among books and Nisargadatta Maharaj has proven to be one of the most humble, honest and controversy free sages ever known. What makes this book oustanding is that it keeps bringing you back to the same core teaching...your true nature is beyond mind and body...explore that! I must admit that it could be a bit confusing at first and sound like someone talking in riddles, however once the message begins to dawn on you, it is probably the most profound message imaginable. What's that? What your true nature is and the cause of ALL yes ALL your suffering. On one hand it might be a bit confusing at first but at the same time, it is because what he says is so ridiculously simple it goes over your head (what? no mantras, chakra work, or even long ardious study with a guru necessary? No talk of needing lifetimes to master enlightenment no chants to memorize?) The basic premise is concept-free spirituality based on seeking your true nature in deep awareness. I consider this a must for a seeker, especially one that prefers non mystical teachings-just direct knowledge....Goes great with Echart Tolle's Power of Now!

A book that is so much more than a book!

A friend told me of this book. I thought no not another metaphysical book for me. Just not ready to sit down with a hard going book that points it's way to 'the real'. A couple of years went by and I ran across the book in the used section of a book store. I opened the book up and read a line and was blown away. To try and write a review of this book is impossible. This is not a book it is a journey. The heart and spirit come right off the page. If you are a seeker get this book. Word is sure getting out about this book. My local metaphyscial book store quietly sees 10 copies quietly disappear in a month. Get the book.

    I Also Recommend:

    Nisargadatta Maharaj

To write a review on I am That is unnecessary. I am That is the most popular book of Nisargadatta Maharaj. The question and answer sessions are beautifully translated from Marathi to English by Maurice Frydman. The words blast away your identity. More articles about Nisargadatta Maharaj are available at my website : nisargadatta.co.cc

    Sadguru Nisargadatta is love

When I first came across the excerpts from I am That on the net, something unexpected happened. I fell in love with his teaching. Unlike most gurus who talk about Reality in the third person, Nisargadatta speaks directly from the experience. Self-realization is Self-realization but Nisargadatta is a very rare talent when it comes to putting the inexplicable in words. No one engages the questioners the way he does.

    A Timeless Spiritual Companion

I read about this book 3 years ago in a spiritual monthly. I purchased the book and couldn't put it down even after I had read it completely. Here is something every spiritual seeker would love to read. Before 'I AM THAT', I had read many books of spiritual kind. In fact it had become a sort of addiction. This book shook me completely and awoke me from the spiritual complacency that I had fallen into. Every seeker will find this book comparable in greatness not with any other book but with the Sadguru himself who abides forever in our hearts. A must buy.
