Children's Literature
It is often difficult for parents to know if they are teaching young children enough about the values of life, and respect for other people. This series of six volumes, each addressing a different behavior, is a great tool for early childhood teachers, as well as for parents. The drawings on each page are brightly colored, and each illustration includes children from multicultural background. Text is limited to twenty words or less on each page. Text usually appears at the bottom of the page only. This title addresses the similarities and differences friends can have, yet still be friends. The children in the story share tickets when one has more than another. Conflict resolution is addressed in a way even young children can understand. It is part of the "Doing the Right Thing" series. 2005(orig. 2002), Gareth Stevens Publishing, Ages 3 to 6.—Joyce Rice
