Children's LiteratureIt is often difficult for parents to know if they are teaching young children enough about the values of life, and respect for other people. This series of six volumes, each addressing a different behavior, is a great tool for early childhood teachers, as well as parents. The drawings on each page are brightly colored, and each illustration includes children from multicultural background. Text is limited to twenty words or less on each page. Text usually appears at the bottom of the page only. This title gives examples of being responsible, so that the lesson is clear to even the youngest reader. Examples include returning library books, cleaning up messes, sharing with friends and helping neighbors. It is part of the "Doing the Right Thing" series. This series makes an excellent gift for young children and a useful edition to all early childhood collections. 2005 (orig. 2002), Gareth Stevens Publishing, Ages 4 to 6.
