About the Author

Russ Benèt is the oldest of six children. He was athletic in school, had exceptional musical talent partial to the Saxophone, and graduated from high school with a 3.9 grade point average. In his senior year, he took a creative writings class, in which his teacher complimented him many times and commented to him, "Your only negative trait is that you cannot write as fast as your mind can create. Maybe one day, someone will create a computer that will type your words for you and then you would be able to let your creative juices flow without restriction." It was during this time in his life, through her tutelage, that he realized his talent. And due to his multiple credits beyond what was required to graduate he was only required to attend school in his Senior year for one hour in the morning. And would then drive to the Hospital and work a shift in the surgical ward. One day he would receive his letter from AAFES advising him of his number being 45 in the then enacted lottery system, and he was to report for duty thirty days from his birthday. As years passed by, he found himself being the storyteller in all circles where he was a guest and fancied himself a bit like Hans Christian Andersen. His life, however, would take a different turn from pursuing a literary career to one in the military which, quite by accident and a twist of fate, opened up a path to a special department of law enforcement in the employ of the government, as well as, a division of the civilian law enforcement agency. Travels abroad and encounters with many different cultures brought him to a very in-depth understanding of relationships, hence the creation of, I Can Help. I trust you will find it helpful as many others have.
