Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Dianne Ochiltree
Part of the "Sports Illustrated for Kids/Victory School Superstars" series, this title features Josh Champs, a 4th grade hockey star with super skating ability. Josh is good at most sports, so when his friend, Kenzie, asks Josh to join her at the tryouts for the school's BMX team, Josh decides to give it a shot. So off to the skate park they go! While Kenzie masters tricks quickly, Josh soon discovers BMX is not so easy for him. Worse, the other guys at the bike park laugh at him. How can Josh ever make the team when he cannot even land a bunny hop? With a lot of hard work and a little help from his friend, Josh DOES make the school's BMX team and along the way, he learns that doing your very best is good enough. This sturdy hardcover will withstand its inevitable repeated readings. Nicely illustrated in full-color comic book style. Includes a glossary and timeline of top moments in freestyle BMX history.
