Barnes & Noble - David McGee
I Finally Found Someone ought to be the first of many duet albums for the wonderfully simpatico Lorrie Morgan and Sammy Kershaw. Kershaw has a lot of George Jones in his nasal, husky voice -- a quality that plays off well against Morgan's throaty, uncommonly delicate tone. When the two blend in sweet harmony on a tender love song -- such as the title track and "Be My Reason" -- the passion is convincing and heartrending. The duo gets a little feisty on the Tex-Mex-flavored "He Drinks Tequila" "He drinks tequila/and she talks dirty in Spanish", and their engaging flirtatiousness raises the room temperature more than a few degrees. The album also showcases the two artists ...

The duo gets a little feisty on the Tex-Mex-flavored "He Drinks Tequila" "He drinks tequila/and she talks dirty in Spanish", and their engaging flirtatiousness raises the room temperature more than a few degrees. The album also showcases the two artists solo, on three cuts each. Kershaw shines on an easygoing, countrified take on the evergreen "What a Wonderful World," but it's Morgan who really stands out. "Big Time" is in the mold of her classic, spiteful kiss-offs to departing beaus, while the poignant "29 Again" finds her at her best in a bluesy, introspective mode, pondering the passing of time and the number it does on a woman's psyche. Plenty to hang your hat on here, as two veteran artists deliver the goods, together and apart.
All Music Guide - Maria Konicki Dinoia
Real life lovers singing duets together in country music is nothing new, but this 12-track collection does offer something fresh -- a wide-ranging group of songs from traditional country to a bit of mellow rock to tender ballads. Lorrie Morgan's voice is raspy and pleasant and Sammy Kershaw's is distinctively country, and when they come together for their six duets, they sound smooth and melodious. The more notable duets are up-tempo songs and not the standard romantic fare -- "He Drinks Tequila" describes what a trailer park queen and her hard-working husband do on weekends, and "3 Seconds" is how long you have to explain your wrongdoing in a relationship -- are playful and fun. Both artists have three solos each, including a song Morgan wrote in just five minutes when she was only 18, the insightful "I Must Be Gettin' Older," and a song with a rock edge that Kershaw wrote in 15 minutes, titled "Sugar." I Finally Found Someone is a half-decent album, especially for a first-time full-length pairing.

    These Two are Dynamite Together!!!

Congratulations to whoever decided to team this duo up. Have been a long standing fan of Lorrie and Sammy as solo artist's, but this combination is something else. If you want a current duo to follow the previous Country Great Duo's, then they are it. They combine and compliment each other on every track they sing be it romantic or humourous.
