Overview

Love at first sight can work for dogs as well as humans.

When Christian, who is manning the adoption fair for the Humane Society that fateful autumn Saturday, finds Aaron, his heart goes out to him--irrevocably.

I Heart Boston Terriers is all about embracing love, whether it's for someone who walks on four legs, or someone who walks on two. The Boston terrier Mavis' journey back to wholeness and finding her forever home runs parallel to the story of two men discovering one another at just that perfect moment--a moment that defies logic, propriety, and common sense.

But then when do the dictates of love follow a rational course?

Come along for a journey about a man and his dog and see how that journey teaches him the truth about love and making a caring connection that just might last a lifetime.

    3.5 stars

    Short and sweet!

Aaron just got dumped and has moved in with his sister. He has no job and feels he is in a rut, until he meets Mavis. His Mavis. A cute Boston terrier, Mavis has been dumped by her owners and is feeling shy and insecure. Aaron feels an instant connection with Mavis even though he knows now it's not the right time to make such a big commitment. He has no job, no place of his own and he is an emotional mess. In comes Christian, soothing both man and dog. Making them feel safe and secure just by using his touch and his voice.

I liked this story. It was short and sweet, but with the great undercurrent theme that love and acceptance can heal most wounds. It is not a very realistic story, but it was a good read nonetheless. I enjoyed the interactions between Aaron and his sister. And the way Aaron bonded with Mavis was a treat to read. I am not a fan on the insta-love story, but I think it worked here in the sense that Christian and Aaron's relationship was not a done deal, just that Aaron was willing to try it and see where it led. At least that's how I chose to see it.

The writing was good, exactly what I have come to expect from Rick R. Reed. This is my first 'light' story of his that I have read and I enjoyed it from beginning to end. It had all the elements I enjoy - humor, emotions and great dialog.

    I love boston terriers

I have a boston terrier and in dog years he is 56 years old, and he sleeps all the time, and he likes to sun bathe when we leave the front door open during the day. Boston terriers are playful dogs who will bark at people who pass by because they know that is their home. If your dog is like mine, he will chase the laser if you have one. And he also likes to sit on the couch like a human and stare at the door to watch for people who come over. And when people come over, he barks at them and his bark is super deep. I hope you guys will love boston terriers like i do. BYE:))
