Life for Riley ends when her young children die in her arms...victims of a global viral outbreak that claims the lives of everyone she's ever known. Left to fend for herself with only a dog as her companion, she sets out on a journey to find others, leaving notes everywhere she goes, hoping that one day someone will come looking for her. When Riley meets the handsome yet mysterious Connor on the streets of Downtown San Diego, they form a bond unlike either has experienced before. When the things that go bump in the night turn out to be more than nightmares, the trio sets off for the mountains in search of an isolated resort where they can hunker down away from the ominous shadows of the dead city streets. The peace and tranquility of the woods isn't enough to keep the darkness away for long though and soon Riley is forced to accept that the World and the few people left alive in it will never be the same. The shadows of the past may haunt her forever - threatening to destroy what little dreams she has left of a future unless she fights to stay in the light and never lose her hope.

Absolutely loved it!!!! What a fantastic read. I'm a Walking Dead fan, but when I started reading Trish's post-apocalyptic setting, I was concerned it would be too dark for me. Boy was I wrong! There was just enough darkness to make you feel for these people, to secretly encourage them to keep going and not give up. But what you had more than anything were some great characters, great storyline, great plot that flowed flawlessly and wonderfully.

As a mega fan of The Walking Dead TV show, this book called out to me when I read the synopsis. Although this book does not have walkers, it does have that element of survival in a world that has collapsed. My personal opinion is that Dawson knows how to write...Her plot is purely excellent and how she can set up suspenseful events was amazing. What a wonderful book!

Trish Dawson...knows how to twist your emotions in such a way as to be sucked into her book! I thought this was an amazing idea! It was so original, and the pieces of the puzzle don't begin to click together until the very end, and the bang! It ended and I still wanted more. If you are looking for a story that blends together action, suspense, and perhaps a little romance with a great idea, then this is your book. It is one of my firm favourites now, and I cannot wait for the next one!

The world as she knew it has been brought down by a disastrous flu epidemic. This is not my usual kind of story, but I loved it. I loved that she goes bravely into the world hoping someone who cares for her will come and find her. The consequences of her trail of notes makes for very interesting reading. Congratulations to Trish Marie Dawson for her bright new book.

I love apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic books, and this one did not disappoint...With a good pace and easy-read style, this novel is a very enjoyable read. There is something for everyone in it – a fit of fun, a bit of flirting, good description, deep emotions, some hate and a good deal of love, too. A very good effort for a debut novel. I would not hesitate to read more by the same author.

Given the serious theme of this book, it reads more like a romance book written by a teenager. Instead of Wondering, why did I survive when most of the world didn't, what happens now, &how do we rebuild a new society,  The main character is attracted to every surviving male she comes in contact with. She is leaving notes everywhere, So someone can find her. Lo and behold an old boyfriend does. The guys are fighting over her. I could go no further. I expected more. Not badly written, just going in a wrong direction.

I loved this book! From the moment I started it, I did not want to put it down which is amazing because it is not the usual type of book I read. It was very well written I must say. This book brought out many emotions in me as I read about the different characters and their loss. There is so much grief and pain that at times you get lost in it and your heart literally hurts for the characters. You could feel Riley's pain when she would think about the loss of her two children and how it tormented her that she survived and they did not. She struggled with feelings of betraying their memory by moving on and starting her life over again. Then Connor comes along and he is struggling with the pain of not knowing if his loved ones are alive. The imagery was so vivid that it kept me up and night with pictures in my head that I couldn't erase after a day of reading. Every chance I got to read, I had my Kindle in hand, and when I wasn't reading I was counting down until I could pick it up again. I am sad now to be finished with the book, I miss the characters already! It isn't often i can read a book and feel so sad when it is over. I am really looking forward to the next one. I highly recommend this book!!

If you were to edit out the lead character's lusty feelings for just about every guy that crosses her path, the book could have universal appeal. It has action, some suspense, and the plot moves right along. In the end, I don't care enough about the any of the people in the story to buy another book by the author.

I was a little confused by this story. At first I could hardly read it because the beginning was so well written I could feel Riley's loss and heart ache.  However, and this is because I am not a woman, so I don't know, I found it hard to believe that she (Riley) was having sexual arousal towards a man she just met the day after humanity died. That not withstanding, all I can say is that I did enjoy the book very much, it is well written and seems to have been fairly well edited, something you don't see a lot of these days in the eBook arena. I will be purchasing and reading book #2 of the series.

I felt the two main characters lacked depth especially the woman. One really never knows how one would react under such circumstances but the reactions seemed somewhat unrealistic. However it was a fast paced enjoyable read.

This Story is about Riley, who loses her family after the red death. Not only her family but everyone. She hears voices calling on the wind. Large explosions are happening near by, and unexplained visions of the dead. Go through this traumatic event with Riley as she leaves notes people to find her, just in case someone anyone survived! You won't regret it.

I Hope You Find Me By Trish Marie Dawson A virus sweeps the world and leaves behind only a few survivors. Riley is a survivor, holding each of her children as they die she is forced to deal with the unthinkable surviving without them. Her grief unbearable as the bodies take a day to burn she has to decide what is next. The next day she leaves a note that she is taking the dog with general directions and she signs off “I hope you find me.” Traveling into the city she sees the total devastation and realizes she may be alone until he finds her at the water. They have to decide to then stick together or separate but when there is no one else there is safety in numbers. This horrible virus leaves behind so many dead and they are haunting the living. Fearing for their lives they decide to travel to a place in the mountains and there they have to face an even bigger challenge dealing with survivors that really don’t care about the living or the dead. Riley’s choices affect the rest of her life, there is so much that happens in this story. Riley faces the raw emotions of loss, fear, defeat and the challenge of a choice to defend what is hers or loose it all again. How she deals with this choice defines who Riley has become, and her first note I hope you find me becomes a defining realization that she finds herself. Trish Marie Dawson did a masterful job writing this story and I can’t recommend it enough. Bella Doerres M.Ed.

I don't give many 5 star reviews, but this whole series was great. Very well written and a unique twist on the whole zombie thing. I could almost see this as a movie or TV series. Give it a try, you won't be sorry. I am anxiously awaiting the next

The book started out interestingly enough. Then it just turned into a high school jealously fest. I guess everyone who survives this apocalypse is required to be drop dead gorgeous. The main character annoyed me to no end. She sure had a short grieving period. I kept waiting for some action, and I don't mean the flirting type, but it never happened. Waste of time. Apparently there are more books in this series. Really?? Whatevs.

I love doomsday type of reading. I'm always curious as to how the writer views what the apocalypse day could be. Trish's books will keep you on the edge and wanting more of her books. I can't wait for her 4th book to come out and perhaps more books following that. The only thing that I'm wondering about is wether or not she will find more Asian people with knowledge of healing powers of herbs and perhaps Amish people who have knowledge of curing diabetics and even how to cure the deafs. That world needs those people!! Power to no government enterference!

not bad. the main character is a little clueless and she should think a bit more clearly but given the circumstances....who know how anyone would react. all in all not a bad book

This book was very well written. If it was packaged as a romance novel, it would have gotten four stars. Those who rave about this book are no doubt romance fans. However, the protagonist is not a survivor because of anything she does. In fact, she seems rather stupid. When I saw the perfect looking man with perfect hair and teeth and the protagonist fawning over his foreign accent, and her seeing ghosts, I bailed.

I like books that are different. This book definitely was. If you like romantic end of the world type of books with a twist, then you will enjoy this one.

Was this about surviving a catalcysm or a romance book? Ill never know because i had to stop reading because the two were in competition. Its a shame because the technical writing ability is clearly evident. Its the ability to keep it realistic in the storytelling that fails. People dont suffer having their world turned upside down to immediately cultivate budding romances with other survivors. It seems most everyone else who left a review agrees. Dale M. Baranoski

Didn't make a lot of sense. I did not like it at all. Will never waste money on this writer again.

Read this one in about a day and bought the second one as soon as I was done!

Some others complained about the main character. I on the other hand felt for her. An outbreak kills almost all the population. Broken by grief she is looking for any other survivors. Is it any wonder she falls for others in the same situation? They are taking comfort in shared losses. I read the book in 3 nights. Fast paced, although it slowed down a few chapters before the end. Definitely picked up again at the end. There is sex in it, but mild. Even though the outbreak was sort of a mystery, with the current Ebola situation in Africa, the story line is quite plausible. Very well written for a first time author. Will certainly be buying book 2.
