    Worthwhile Read!

I think that this book was pretty good if you like thrillers, it was not as scary as I thought it would be, but it was still pretty suspenseful. Once I started reading it I couldn't seem to set it down. The author, Lois Duncan did a lovely job of telling this intense story, I would definitely recommend it.
The basic idea of this book is about some teenagers that did something awful the summer before and they had all made a pact to never tell anyone but someone finds out and they want their revenge.
This novel gets the thumbs up from me.
Description and summary of main points
Lois Duncan, the author knew when she was a child that she wanted to be an author and she has made her point by this great book, it's very thrilling and exciting. Along with "I Know What You did Last Summer" Duncan has written 48 other books ranging from children's books to adult novels.
I read this book with an open mind not expecting not to be very good, but it turned out to be a worthwhile read
The book is about how the summer before, Julie James and some of her friends - Raymond Bronson, Helen Rivers, and Barry Cox did something horrible that changed their lives, they have made a pact to never tell anyone but it someone knows and they seem to want revenge, the book goes on about what they have done and what they do, there are some plot twists and turns which add suspense to the story.
Over all this was an excellent suspenseful story and it kept me intrigued throughout the whole novel.

    A Must-Read!

This book was great! It completely sucked me in. Lois Duncan is a great writer. Though if you've seen the movie, there are drastic differences between the two. Nevertheless, they're wonderful works of art in their own right. If you love suspense and thrillers, then this is a definite must-read for you!

I know what you did last summer!

In this book, it truly was a work of masterpiece. I loved it. I read this book a couple of times now, and I still remember details from a few years ago. It was descriptive, insightful and never gave away to much. In the end, I was surprised as to who the killer was. I probably would have never guessed. This is a great attribute to a murder mystery and should not be overlooked by other mystery/thriller authors of this day and age. Truly, this book has not disappointed me at all. I could read it again and again and not get bored.

    Must Read Teen Fiction

I enjoyed this book way more than I thought I would. Don't go into reading it expecting it to be a slasher book it's more about the characters and how they are dealing with the crime they committed and it's better that way. You can barely tell this book was written in 1973. Teens today will still relate.

    A Book You Will Enjoy

Great book! I had always heard of this book/movie and when it was on my summer reading list, I jumped for the chance to read it. Each of the characters had their own little story line. They each had a different life after the accident happened. Julie used to be a cheerleader, and after it happened she became very studious and barely went out. Ray moved out of state after the accident. Helen and Barry's lives pretty much stayed the same though. The accident happened on one crazy night in the summer. After the accident, they all made a pact to never talk about it again. But when Julie got a worrisome letter in the mail, she quickly ran to Helen's place. Barry thought it was just a joke and he had convinced them to believe the same. Soon thereafter, Barry and Helen started receiving pictures and news clippings, they knew something was up. They all reunited and try to figure out what the reason for this is. They never knew that their own lives were in danger for their silly actions the summer before. I thought this book was very exciting and I could reread it over and over again. This book was sometime a bit confusing at points. Other than that, it has probably been one of the best books I've read. It really was an attention grabber. I remember walking around the airport reading it because I wanted to know what was going to happen next. Conclusion I truly thought this book was amazing. I always liked mystery books, but sometimes they would be long and boring at points. I thought in general that this book revealed just enough and never was boring. I would recommend this book to any teen that likes mystery.

I Know What You Did Last Summer

Julie, Helen, Ray, and Barry all forget about their past summer and move on with their lives, until Julie gets a letter in the mail that clearly reads. I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER.Helen, Ray, and Julie are all getting hints that somebody found out about that summer. Then all of sudden, Barry is shot. They know that they are in danger, and they have to find out who knows and why they want to hurt them. This story is about 4 teenagers who get into some trouble one summer and completely try to rid their minds of it, and then all of a sudden somebody knows! The teenagers are Julie James, a very smart girl about to go to college, Helen Rivers, a beautiful Golden Girl, Raymond Bronson, a guy who went off and worked on some fishing boats, and Barry Cox, Helen's boyfriend who is a great athlete. This story teaches you to be careful what you're doing on those summer nights. In the end, you find out who's injured, but what you really want to know is "Who was the killer?" Read and find out!I am a person, who absolutely despises reading. Although, I was very entertained by this book. I really got into it. This book has mystery, thrills, emotion, and horror. I think anyone from fifth grade to eleventh grade would enjoy it, boys and girls, too. If somebody asked me to tell them a name of an entertaining book, I would definitely say "I Know What You Did Last Summer."

    Thrilling and Exicting

I Know What you Did Last Summer by Lois Duncan was a great suspense novel. I really enjoyed reading this because it was the kind of books I am interested in reading. It had a lot of suspense and a mystery which I was excited to figure out in the end. The setting of my book is in present day.
The major conflict was that four friends did something one night and someone knows what. This person starts sending notes and pictures to scare the friends. Meanwhile, bad things are happen to these friends as they try to figure out the mystery of who this person is and how they know their secret. One main event that happened in the story was the bullet to Barry (one of the friends). He was at college and got a phone call to meet him outside. When he arrived, someone shot him in the stomach. Another main event that the character dealt with was with Helen (another one of the friends). Someone tried to kill her but she escaped by jumping out her window and being left unconscious on the floor. Lastly, Julie (third friend) was with her boyfriend right when she was going to break up with him. He ended up almost strangling her to death until her old boyfriend came to the rescue and saved the day!
This author has a particular style. He writes in each of the character's point of view. His tone has suspense and keeps the reader reading and wanting more.
If you are a person that is into mystery, horror, and suspense, you should read this book. You will get the same thrill and excitement as I did in reading the book. You will definitely want more!

I know what you did last summer

The theme of this book is to create a mystery. Lois Duncan, the author, is trying to teach you a lesson while creating a mystery. The book is teaching you about being safe. It also keeps you going all the way to the end. The book keeps you going because the ending is really unexpected.

This book is about four seniors attending a high school. They get involved in a hit and run one night after they had been out late drinking. The memory is following them. The teens try to get it out of their head in every way possible, but it won't leave them alone.
    Evaluation
One of the girls receives a letter saying that he knows what they did last summer. They all get hints that someone is out to find them. But they don't know that the person trying to find them is closer than they think.

I give this book four stars. I give the book four stars because it is well written and has a good plot. I enjoyed this book very much. It is a great book to read if you like mysteries!

EPIC SCARY JUST WHAT THE DOCTOR ORDERED

I loved I know what you did last summer. This is the books Lois is famous for! This is a book where these four teens accidentally hit a guy and dump his body in the nearest lake. Then Julie, one of the characters, she gets a note saying that somebody knows. And the guy tracks down everyone that was in the accident and tries to kill them. As said before this book is very suspense ful so this I give five stars on the AWESOME scale.

    Awesome Book!

Four teenagers hit a boy on a bike while they were driving drunk, but they keep on driving and anonymously call the police. They make a pact never to talk about it again. The next day they receive the news that the boy has died. They go on living their lives until the next summer Julie receives a letter simply stating 'I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER'.

Throughout the book, the mystery man keeps dropping more hints that he knows what they did and he just might tell the police. Then, things take a violent turn when Barry is shot. Julie and Ray start an investigation of their own and try to solve this intriguing mystery.

This book achieves its goal of being a suspense novel without a doubt. I literally could not put it down. The immense suspense in this book left me checking outside my window to make sure nothing unusual was there.

This book was amazing. The plot is deep and it keeps you guessing until the very end. I normally do not read suspense or any books that seem scary but this one has me second guessing my previous thoughts on this genre.

This Is the BEST Book Ever!!

This is a great story that kept me interested full time and was addicting. It involved four rotten kids who are driving under the influence and, they hit a boy on a bicycle. They swear to never tell anyone what they did that summer until an unknown visitor continuously is blackmailing them a summer later. They are going to have to trust each other because this man wants revenge. This book was published in 1999 by Louis Duncan. She currently lives in North Carolina, and she is still writing books. Many of her books have won awards, as well as they are bestsellers for young adults. I Know What You Did Last Summer is a book mainly about how revenge always turns around and gets you. You may think things are kept secret, but that is not always the best assumption. The book has some twists and turns but in the end it all ties up. It all ended up being a great exciting book! This was a great book and I really enjoyed reading it. The lesson I learned from the story was always trust others. I really enjoyed this story as well as it kept me interested full time and was addicting.
