Children's Literature - Susan FournierThis is a wonderful book that teaches kids about the process of digestion, in a child's own words. A simple lunch sparks a conversation between Sam and his mother about what happens to food after we put it into our mouths. Sam tells the whole soupy, goopy story, including the technical (and not-so-technical) terms for the parts of he body used for digestion. The scientific terms are highlighted throughout the story, and the corresponding diagrams and illustrations are informative, yet kid friendly. This book is suitable for use in a classroom or at home.
Kirkus ReviewsThrough cozy conversation, just as they are about to devour pizza for lunch, Sam and his mother unravel the process of digestion in this entry in the Sam's Science series.
