I cooked Chicken Katzu curry that was awful. Beef Burrito was good. Chicken & Smoked Ham Gumbo had so much flour that ended in a thick heavy sauce. Mi husband who used to live in New Orleans said that the recipe was not the real Gumbo. I was disappointed with this book because it looks well made with nice pictures. However the author apparently did not try all the recipes.

Soups & sauces, meat & poultry, fish & shellfish, vegetarian, and even desserts comprise this cookbook and every recipe is made in a slow cooker. This book gives tips on what can happen to food in a slow cooker and how to remedy any surprises that may arise while cooking. Each recipe lists the ingredients and how to cook a dish in the slow cooker. This book also gives you lengths of time it will take for preparations, how long the dish will cook for and how many it serves. Some recipes include a large asterisk-like symbol that lets you know that particular recipe is "super-easy to make. This means there is minimal or no prepping involved." Throughout the book are pictures of what your dish will look like in the slow cooker as well as on the table. In the back of the book, there is a list of basic recipes & accompaniments, like how to make different stocks and sauces. I GIVE THIS BOOK: 4 out of 5 This book is formatted well. Prep and cooking time is listed at the top of the page. On the left side of the page is the list of ingredients. This is great if you put this cookbook on an eReader and can take to the grocery store with you. Then on the right side of the page are the instructions in making the dish. This author offers basic recipes and sauces, as well as offering tips on cooking with a slow cooker. I feel that is an added bonus. Who hasn't made a dish and wondered, "Is that supposed to be happening?" This is not a cookbook for my family. I went through the recipes with my husband and neither one of us found a recipe that we liked. This book is for a person who likes a variety of foods and spices. Most of the recipes have Middle Eastern influences and my family is not a fan. If you don't believe me, check it out for yourself! Until next time, take life one page at a time!
