Has a few particularly appealing recipes, but watch the language

First, let me say that I've only perused this book, but not actually cooked anything yet. It's definitely meant for the college crowd as evidenced by the quote "Delicious Dishes You Can't Eff Up" right on the front cover. Had I noticed that particular phrase when browsing on-line, I would not have purchased the book because I'm not ready to explain to my young readers what the "eff" means. On the other hand, there appear to be a number of easy and delicious recipes using TJ's products which was the purpose of buying this book. I think, however, that I'll be passing this along to a friend with a daughter starting college in the fall and try to find a different TJ's cookbook for our household.

Where was this book years ago?! (Definitely not just for college students - busy professionals take a look)

This book is long overdue! I wish it was around when I was in college and/or when I first started living on my own. Anyone who has been stuck with unhealthy cafeteria food at college or at a standstill when trying to cook quickly and healthily on a budget will revel in this book. Anyone underpaid and living in an expensive metropolitan area (for me NYC) where your budget dictates your grocery allowance will find unique and satisfying meal ideas here. I am always on the go and need healthy meals I can make in a jiff when I get home exhausted and hungry. I love the variety of recipes (food for the soul for foodies), and I appreciate the icons at the beginning of each recipe that let you know ahead of time what level of preparation will be involved. I can't wait for the Whole Foods version of the book!

    Such easy yet delicious recipes!

I have a confession. I'm not in college. I just picked this book up because I was looking for an easy cookbook to make simple meals for my husband and I on weeknights. I picked this up because the ingredients were easy to find and the meals were so fast to put together. The food is delicious and comforting, and I don't feel like I'm neglecting my family cooking duties! I love love the vegetarian section and the variety of recipes! This is a fantastic addition to my cookbook collection.

    Great Gift Idea

I purchased this book as a HS graduation gift for my niece, but tried out a couple recipes before I gift-wrapped it. The recipes in the book all seem very easy. They use a lot of imagination, so I think this book will be great for helping a total novice cook some fun, tasty meals. Most of the recipes take very little time, so it seems like a perfect book for an on-the-go, impatient college student. I tried the recipes for the Mexican Tortilla Soup and the Mediterranean chicken, and both were excellent. I definitely plan on adding the Mediterranean chicken into my regular rotation. In fact, I'm impressed enough with the book that I'll probably pick up a copy for myself. Even if college is in my distant past, I think this book is a pretty good resource for Trader Joe's fans at any stage of life.
