Editorial Reviews

School Library Journal
PreS-These board books, illustrated in bright, bold, mostly primary colors with shapes heavily outlined in black, will appeal to children's sense of imagination and play. Artist features a little penguin playing at being a nurse, a driver on a toy car, a cowboy with a stick horse, and a model with high-heeled shoes and a dressy hat, among other things. Cake portrays the same bird making a picture with some pots of paint, a "house" from a table and some blankets, a beaded necklace, and more. It all adds up to a "BIG mess," but with adult help, "We make it tidy." The appealing artwork will make these titles popular with toddlers.-Lisa Falk, Los Angeles Public Library Copyright 2000 Cahners Business Information.|
