    Calling all parents!

I Need to be SAFE: I'm Worth It! arrived in my mail box and I wondered how one is to review a book like this. This is a book that isn't read just one time and then put down, it needs to be practiced, memorized and saved for further study. I can actually see keeping a copy in the car, school or church library.
Self-defense is more important today than ever. Although this book is written for teaching children, there are many things that adults should learn and master. The reality is that in today's world there is more violence. Since violent crimes happen unexpectedly, learning self-defense, as well as awareness of our surroundings and becoming confident in that knowledge, could save people from bodily harm, injury or worse. The self confidence learned from each exercise will also help children dealing with bullies, evaluating a threatening situation or even over coming low self-esteem.
Author, Janet Goliger, is the creator and owner of the C.L.A.S.S. Self-Defense Program. (Children Learning Awareness, Safety and Self-Defense). Much of the book is dedicated to self-defense, but much of it teaches awareness, which is important in learning to avoid potentially dangerous situations. The book teaches how not to be a victim. The considerable content is well organized and therefore easily referenced. The photos are extremely helpful in showing the self-defense moves.
Ms. Goliger writes, "I am often asked what is the best way to teach children not to go to strangers. I tell parents the same thing every time: Be honest with your children. You don't need to be graphic, but you do need to give them some real facts."
I highly recommend this book to parents, teachers, women and coaches wishing to make the lives of our children safer. Our children are our greatest asset and Ms. Goliger gives us the tools to protect them.

Finally a book that is easy to understand and works! My children also enjoyed reading it and understand everything because of the simplicity. The pictures are extremely helpful when we practice the techniques. Every parent and child should read this book!

Greatest Children's Self Defense Book Ever!

This is the first book that I have seen where you can actually learn and understand what to do, just from reading the book and following the pictures. My kids do not have much patience for this stuff, but they loved learning and practicing the techniques, and they get it! I really believe that they are much safer after reading this book.
