    Exam Study Guide???

After memorizing this book front to back and taking the INET exam I discovered that around 50% of the topics on the exam were never even remotely covered in this book. The book is riddled with contradictions and incorrect answers to questions. The testing engine asks questions that are never covered in the book. I would say it is impossible to pass the exam by studying this book alone. Compared to the INET objectives, it barely covers anything. If you are going to use this, study alternate resources as well!!

Decent but subjective and misses a lot

First and foremost, make sure ANY study materials you get are for the NEW exam (IKO-002) which came out in April 2002! The book, for what it covers, is a decent reference to show weakness but it leaves a lot to be desired. - Chapter exam Q&A had questions whose answers were subjective and left me hanging as to what the test would consider valid. - Also, the chapter exams Q&A would conflict with the reading material (or the material would leave out major points that the question seemed to be addressing). - I was amazed at how many questions the included exams asked that were never covered in the book! So, learn your HTML tags well! I'd guess that the book covers 80% to 90% of the required materials (after reviewing compTIA's 'blueprint for i-Net+') and is a good start. Unfortunately, I doubt it would help anyone pass without some more research and studying elsewhere. Since neither Sybex or the authors have responded to any of my questions (dgroth's email address isn't even valid as listed in the book) I still have reservations about some of the material.
