Maureen Lagana's book is a beautiful compilation of images and messages, interweaving human nature and the larger natural world. Seascapes, landscapes, and floral compositions accompany comforting messages of enduring love. As an artist, an art educator, and a special educator focusing in Autism Spectrum Disorders, I see this as a poignant and useful educational text for both the home and academic settings for individuals across the lifespan. The concept of love may be abstract and out-of-reach for those who think in concrete terms. For individuals who are in the process of developing theory of mind or who struggle to stand in someone else's shoes and identify their emotional wants and needs, this book can be a valuable communicative resource. This is an illustrative text that communicates qualities of love through simple, accessible language. I recommend this book for everyone you love, and most importantly for those who express their love in their own unique ways!
